Does anyone have an effective way of calibrating their speedometers to the correct speed?

When my dealer and I did the on lake delivery he brought a handheld GPS unit with him. He calibrated the Perfect Pass and the boat spedo both. I have not had to touch either since. On this site the manuals for the Faria gauges are available in the Downloads section. On the site http://www.perfectpass.com the PP manuals can be downloaded there and it also tells how to calibrate the PP spedo. Each manual has good instructions on how to calibrate the spedo.

Bill,
search for a website for slalom skiing. Back in the day before GPS we used a stop watch. There is a chart for checking speeds from the first boat guide to the third bouy and for first boat guide to last gate. Its a lost art, but I found one a few weeks ago.
I can remember having a floating keychain that had the times on the back!
