I am looking to purchase a new Tige this year. I am looking at the 22I Type-R. I was wondering if anyone would have any recommendations or comments about this boat to help with my decision.

The 22i is a great all around boat and the seating arrangment is the best in my opinion. But If your strickly wakeboarding go with a V-drive.

i love my 21ir. It's awesome. I hear the 22 has more room, but I dont' think that mine is that small, but we are all college guys.

Ordered my new 22I today.
I now only have 6 more weeks to kill until I get it.
21I Storm Gray deck and Hull w/ Navy Blue panel.
What do you think?

Rather than waiting 6 weeks for your boat, I will sell you my '01 21V and you can be riding next weekend! It's almost new, still 2 years warranty left on the motor...

awesome man... I was originally looking at the same boat, but decided on a V-drive. Post some pics when you get it- I'm looking forward to seeing that color combo!

Here is my new 22IR. Well, at least it is new to me. 2003 model six months old. Poor dude I bought it from was getting a divorce and was forced to sell it.
Lost a wife and the boat....Too bad about the boat :p

verrry nice. love the RED!!!
you will love your 22ir for sure! great boat. owning one, i would have to disagree with tigeman1. weighted right you wil have just as good a wake as a vdrive. i am switching to a 24v, but it has nothing to do with the wake. people have to remember that this is the 1st i to be specifically built for wake boarding, not a ski boat conversion.

Nice boat.
Sounds like you got a great deal for the boat. Too bad for the Seller, but great for the buyer.

My son is wondering if the 22i wake is suitable for slalom and / or barefooting ? He mostly uses his sky ski, but also likes to barefoot and slalom occasionally . we have other family members that want to wakeboard and wake surf .. will the 22i with the factory ballast system be a good choice .. thanks ..
you may have to change the prop depending on what speed your son foots at but otherwise, great boat for just about anything. i have slolomed, boarded, and had a couple buddies foot behind mine. one thing to keep in mind is that your son will have to deep water start, or you will have to fab a boom. i could not find a boom that would fit mine.
great choice! and have fun!

Your son should love the barefoot wake. At footing speeds you can adjust the taps to put a hard edge for tumbles and tricks (keeps you from being pulled in behind the boat) or to a smooth ramp to better wake cross for slalom barefooting.
As for the boom issue, go get yourself a Tower Boom from Barefoot International. I stock them (if you can not find one) and thay are quite slick!!!
I can email you pictures of them on a TIGE` 22v if you need to see one.
That tower boom will work on just about any solidly built tower.

Anticipation is killing me.
I just got off of the phone with the dealer and he said that I might be able to pick up my boat this weekend.
Can't wait I want it now.

I know the feeling! you just cant get it out of your mind! I'll bet you keep thinking of everything from what it's going to be like in and behind the boat, to what your rig is going to look like and how it will tow! Am I CLOSE??!?!?!? Let me just say that I'm STILL enamoured with my 22v (check my gallery!).:D  :D
I know the feeling for sure. If you want your boat quick, just do fatcory options. Mine has been here for a few weeks, but waiting on manufatcurers for a bunch of "custom" things I wanted to do on the boat.
It will be awesome when it gets done, but the wait is like toothpicks under my eyelids!

I have a 21i and my wake is huge compared to the vlx by malibu. I hear the 22i is that much bigger, since it's a bigger boat. People say it's all about the same just better seating in the 22i since it's a bit longer.
