Hello all.
I just picked up my 04 21I a week ago. It has the GM 5.7 335hp. After 2 days of running, I started having problems. It appears to me a fuel injection problem, but a problem none the less. The rpms will only get up to 3000. If I pump the trottle a few times, it slowly gets up to about 3500. I'm checked the trottle cable and it was fine. I'm taking to dealer on tuesday so I'll let you know what was the problem. Tige thinks it is an eletrical problem with the Fuel injection and should be easily fixed.
Anyboday else have any trouble with this engine?

I have the same engine on my 04 & have just over 100 hours on it. No problems until last week when the starter went bad. Other than that it has ran great. Hopefully they can get it fixed quickly for you.

I have the same engine in my 04 22V, just hit 30 hours with zero problems.

Believe it or not. IT was a faulty gas tank.... Was not getting enough pressure.

Just today I had a problem with my engine. It also seems to be a fuel flow problem of sorts. At times it runs fine, then it acts like it is out of fuel and stalls, and rarely dies. It happened more at higher RPM's, but not consistently - when i went fast it would happen pretty quickly, but if I kept at 15 MPH it would happen only rarely.
I'll keep you posted, I'll also mention the gas tank.
Did I mention I only have 10 hours?

check the two wire connections on the low pressure fuel pump. the pump is located on the bottom left of the motor (if looking at the belt end of the motor). the connections are push-ons and sometimes a little loose.

Tige M.D. ,
You were almost on the money! They found a defective wire going to the coil and by slightly wiggling it, it reproduced the sputter and stall I was having. I now have a new wire there. I have yet to have her back on the water but I'll update then, hopefully tomorrow!

Ran the boat on Saturday - Had a great time. Looks like a defective wire was all the problem!
