what kinda wake do those things really put out? Is there really a need for a tower on those? Come on. My buddies Eliminater (think it's 27ft) in Havasu had a wake that was like water in a jacuzzi--nasty. I would never want to ride behind it. That, and there is absolutely nothing to hit for air....just washy, bubbly mess.

It's not about the wake, it's about the sheer thrill of twin 1000hp turbocharged engines screaming along at 100+ on glass! :D
A few years ago i had the pleasure of getting a backseat ride in a 35' Nordic with twin 525ci supercharged engines. It was on Lake Tullock in Cali and this lake is not that big, in fact it suprised me the guy even had it on the lake at all. In less than 7 seconds it was up to 100 and i was pinned to the back seat and literally couldn't move! But it sure was fun! :ro:

But did it have a tower on it? Would you board behind it? Probably not....I just don't get the towers on a powerboat thing. Maybe I'm missing something!? The boats are badazz, for sure, but they aren't tow boats.

In Florida those boats tend to get a 50 caliber bullet through the engines quite often when they are caring drugs. The Coast Guard gets em. :D :D I guess that is the only way they can pay for the boat is to transport drugs around. What fun is that running from the law all the time? Either you are going to fast or you are doing somthing you are not supposed to be doing with those kind of boats.

You would be suprised how many people ski, kneeboard and tube behind these things. We see it all the time on bigger lakes, especially Shasta. And as for the tower thing, it's all about bling and crossover accessories from one style of boating to another. Where do you think wakeboats got the idea? From the fishing industry where they had them well before wakeboats. Malibu got their Illusion tower idea from the yachting industry. They may not be very functional on these boats but they sell.

i have been a hundred on the water in a 20ft skinny little go fast boat of some sort from the 70's with 400hp of mercs on the back worst/best 30 seconds of my life thank god it was on a small lake and he had to back off. we use to push our bikes over 160 pretty regular (b4 kids) kids= sell motorcycles but a 100 on the water is a whole new world to me.

So I guess it only takes about 4 seconds for that bimini to be floating in the lake behind them.

I would like to impress everyone with my stupid brothers, by saying that two of the DCB's at the show belonged to them. Their morons! The gray 28ft V and the white 32ft cat. The dash of my brothers boat is the 4th pic down. If you were there, the back of both boats say Castle Rock, Colorado. Someday soon, I just might be as dumb.

They are super bad toys man, I would LOVE to have one. Not really any place besides Lake Michigan to use it around here though. Lake Michigan is too damn cold to swim in, so not much appeal to hang out there for me.
If both your brothers have one why do you need to buy one? :D MOOCH IT from them!!:ro:

I'm the youngest of four brothers - I don't want to be left out:) Anyhow, I have to be on their insurance policies to drive their boats. It's fun to ride in them, but I'd like to throttle. I thought about being a little different, I was talking with the owner of MTI this morning about their new 36. Surprisingly, MTI's are expensive enough to make DCB's seem more reasonable. I boat on the Colorado river, so a 29 DCB is all I would get. My first baby pops out in June, so I'm going to wait till next spring to buy a cat. I'm trying to talk my brothers into a community Tige for all the kids. That would be sweet!

Thanks, I assumed everyone knew what an MTI or DCB was. MTI makes more of an East coast big water cat. MTI is also the best boat manufacturer in the OSS, Mike Defrees (team CRC) and the budwieser select team both run MTI's. Their sick and MTI just came out with a 36ft boat. DCB on the other hand makes the best Colorado river (Powell, Mead, Havasu...) and west coast cats around. Their boats are not as long as MIT's, but the rigging and billet everywhere is amazing. No offense to Tige, but nobody makes a nicer or better built boat than DCB. Unfortunately, a 29ft cat from DCB is about $300K and up. MTI's start at about $500K. That's why my brothers are morons!
