Well, this weekend I was in Havasu with my friend and some of the guys that work in his shop. Since they glass surfboards I knew at some point I could try wake surfing. It never interested me before since I am not a surfer but it was a blast. Once I dropped the rope however, I couldnt find the "sweet spot" to keep it going. I know it wasnt a weight issue since my friend was able to do it with no ballast. I even had my little girl out there with my friend. Just wanted to shout out to anyone who wakesurfs. I had a blast.....

It's a lot of fun, especially when the water isn't good enough to board on. It's kind of hard to tell, but looking at the wake you may be going to fast. I set the PP to 10.5 or so, but I don't think we've got it dialed in either. I can't keep from crusing up on top of the swim platform.

yeah, we were doing 13 mph. If the speedo is correct? PP wasnt setting maybe because it was too slow. Next time I want to add ballast and people who arent too damn hangover to move to one side of the boat. It was still a blast.... Sucks because I didnt think I would have that much fun, now I need to buy a wakesurf.

Those pictures are too cool! How did you manage to stand up with you daughter laying on the board? Wakesurfing is the best especially when the water is always wasted, which is every weekend of the summer.

First try was handing her off the swimstep and they went down so that didnt work. We had her lay on the front of the board while someone is in the back holding the handle and as the boat gets moving slide yourself up like a kneeboard, then once your on your knees start with your lead foot forward and stand up. Once he was up my daughter would do the same. With one hand holding my daughters hoop on the back of her life jacket so she doesnt fall off we were able to get her up. Problem was once you let go of the rope, you cant pump to stay in the wake with another body standing still. She fell off 5 times before she decided to stop since the handle was thrown back out to them and happend to hit her right on the finger with a carbon handle. After that she wanted back in the boat to see mommy...

Funny.....I've asked for my mommy after a couple nasty spills myself...probably not the same coming from a 24 year old guy though I would imagine.

haha.... naw Joe I dont think it would be the same. Unless of course your mom still does baby talk with you.
We had to chase down an Ice Cream patio boat since that seemed to cheer her up. She was good after that and ended up hopping in the tube with me for some head butts.

Man, that is what I am talking about.. I cant wait to get my nephew out there. He is only 5.5 months old right now... It is such a cool thing to show kids fun like this....Just be careful of the CO content..
Congrats to all wakesurfers.

Thats awesome. A family friends 6 year old son is already letting go of the rope and surfing up and down the rooster tail for a good 1-3 minutes. Awesome to see that stuff.

850 is what it comes with from factory or was this system aftermarket? If you have any pictures of the tank and switches, like where their located can you post them or PM them to me. I am interested in seeing that.
If you can only fill the ballast on the side your surfing on, then add lead or more water weight. Try it out about 11 mph then if you have lead move it around till you can dial it in. Good luck. My pictures earlier in this thread are of no weight, just the people that felt like moving out of their seat to move to one side while everyone else stay under the bimini.
Good Luck

Cool thanks. Are your switches all independent from each other? Or does one switch fill up both back bags? Try weighting down the back rear of the side you will be wakesurfing. If both ballast in the rear fill with the flick of the switch, then try adding additional weight to one side with water ballast and moveable weight like lead to find your desired wake.
