TAPS or TAPS2, Whats the difference?

Ok ladies and gentlemen..I need some questions answered. I was wondering about the TAPS system differences. I know 2004 was the introduction of the TAPS2 system, but is there actually anything different? (In regards to a 2003 TAPS system) I was told there was not one...only between the older hydraulic models...Is the piston different? If so, can I upgrade to the new TAPS2 system..mine is giving me some problems.
Any info would be much appreciated.

The new Taps2 is electrical and the old taps was hydrolic, so you dont have to worry about leaks from hoses and stuff, also you can go a little higher and a little lower on both ways, other than that its the exact same

Thanks. I knew there was a difference in the Hydraulic vs. Electric, but I was curious if there is a 'third' version. I have a 2003 22V, and it is not called the TAPS2, but TAPS, the same reference as the older hydraulic ones...howerver, mine is electric. I am thinking that Tige realized that they needed to make sure that older Tige boat owners who had probs with the hydraulic systems knew there was a newer electric system out...but they didnt change the name until this year.. I know this may sound confusing, and is is for me. I more or less was wanting to know if there were two versions of the electric piston...one with a longer throw..

The thrid version as you have called it has a greater travel so the Taps plate will move further. The ram also attached to the Taps plate in a different location. The gauge in your dash is calibrated to your current motor so if you change the motor without changing the gauge it will if effect move further than the gauge indicates if you understand what I mean

Yep, I understand, now I have to convince some Tige Service Associates of the situation. I just wanted to see if anyone else knew this too..or I was a lone shooter.
