I was wondering if anyone had a recommendation for a tower. I own a 2000 21i and am looking to put a tower on the boat for this upcoming summer. Should I get a tige tower or something from a tower specific company? Also, if anyone has prices or anything that could help me with my purchase that would be great

You could always go w/the manufacturer, they should have your boat deminsions and it may be the easiest route, but there are a ton of companies that build....ie monster tower, titan, skylon, wake design just use a google search for wakeboard towers and you will get a ton of hits. But I would definately recommend a tower vs a fly-high pole.

talk to Bill at monstertower.com... he's always happy to be of assistance. He goes by monstertower on here and on wakeboarder.com.

Anyone know how much a factory tower would cost?

$2625 for Black or White, and $2925 for brushed/clearcoat or custom colors. This is according to the quotes I was given a couple of weeks ago.

I had a Skylon X-Treme tower added to my 20i. It is great, real strong, no noise, breaks down easy, and looks awesome. There are a lot of good towers out there, so it would be hard to go wrong. Here is what it looks like:

Don't know why the picture won't post. You can see it if you look under the General Discussion section, under the post "Boat Types". Just look for the post by KailuaAl. White 20i with a white Sklyon X-Treme tower.

KailuaAl,
The image requirements are as follows:
File Types accepted: gif, jpg, png, txt, zip, bmp
Max Width and Height : 600W 500H
Image size should be under 102 K (kilobytes).
Hope that helps!

Thanks. Actually, I think the problem in this case was that your site noted that I had already uploaded that same picture in another post. I got a message so stating, asking that I refer readers to that post in lieu of uploading the picture again. Hence my reference to the other post under "Boat Types" under the "General Discussion" section.

devonb,
Thanks for the compliment (but it is a 20i, not a 21i). IMO, it is hard to go wrong with basic white!
Here is a link to a website that sells the tower:
Wakeside.com (http://www.wakeside.com/page/W/PROD/skylon_wakeboard_towers/skylon_swoop_x_treme)
It is $1700 plus $650 for the racks. I had it installed, but it can be done yourself. Expect to pay ~$250 to have it installed by a boat fiberglass shop.
If you have a bimini, it most likely will have to be replaced as well. It gets a little pricey!

devonb , I have a original tower that I removed from my 2001 21IR. It includes the tower, racks, bimini, and all the original mounts and hardware. I am moving next month, and need to sell it. Let me know if you are interested.

I'll take $1000 for the whole package, and you pay for shipping. I work for a logistics company, and I can probably get you a good price to ship it.

Why did you have to remove the tower? Did you get a new one? Also, what is the width of your boat i dunno if the 2000 21i and the 2001 21ir are the same width. And also, as far as installation would it even be possible to do it by yourself?
Thanks, again

I wanted a different tower, so I replaced the original with a Montser tower. I believe the Tige 21I series are all the same until 2003, mabye 2004, when they came out with the new hull design. The 2000 21I and the 2001 21I are definately the same hull. I believe the published beam is 95 inches. As far as doing it yourself, as long as you are reasonably handy it will be no problem. My new tower came with new hardware and backing plates, so the original tower has all the original screws, nuts, and backing plates. Basically everything for the tower that was on the boat originally you will get. I will post pics tomarrow.

Yea, thats my boat on the Monster home page. I wanted to do something different, so I went with monster tower. I replaced the tower over the off season and have not been out and pulled behind the new tower yet. I can't wait until it gets a little warmer so I can try out the new monster tower.

why did you replace the old tige tower with the monster. Did the old tower not work well?

The factory tower worked fine, no problems with the towers functionality. The main reason for the change was the number of Tige's on my lake. There are about 4 other regular tige's with the same tower on our regular lake. One of these was also a 21I in the exact same color inside and out (his is a 2000). I have spoken to the guy on many occasion, and it always seemed like they were bitching about other boats driving, and how the lake patrol was harrassing them for no reason(while they were drinking thier beers). I really did'nt want anyone, especially the cops confusing us for them. I got a nice bonus, so I decided to set my boat apart from the rest by changing towers. About $2,300 I have a new tower, racks, and bimini. Exactly what I had before, only lighter in the pocketbook. Only money I guess?

devonb, are you still interested in this tower? I am moving in a few weeks and I really do not want to take this tower to my new house. The price on this tower is negoiatable. If your really interested, I will cut you a good deal. There is also a good chance that this tower does not make the move and will go in the dumpster. I hate to just throw it away when someone might be able to use it.

If anyone is interested, I am selling a Metcraft tower. It came standard on a few of the boats last year, and is still on the 24V. I just want a different one. It has an aluminium piece that says Tige even. It is coming off an '03 20i. I don't know how much it's worth.

boarder x, Do you have any pictures? Is it all aluminum? Thanks

I'm sorry, but I don' t have any pics right now. There are a couple on TIge's website, but they aren't very good. The green boat in the 20v gallery has my same tower. That shiny spot under his towers is the piece that has Tige written on it. ...... Mine's white too, not pea soup green.

I'm sorry, I didn't see that you had asked that. Actually it is 2" aircraft grade aluminium.
Do you still have this tower and how much do you think you need to get for it I might be intrested in it.
Thanks Fred

Yes I still have it. I don't know how much it's worth. I don't even know how much it would be to ship. (I don't want either of us to feel cheated) If you are interested, let me know where you live, and I'll try and find out how much shipping is, and get an estimate from Tige and/ or Boss Towers. My boat is in the shop right now getting warrenty work done, so if you need it ASAP, I don't know how much I can do.
I live in Livermore CA, lets try and get a quote for shipping then I can decide.
Thanks Fred

You only live a hundred miles miles away. I would be willing to either take it to you, or meet you somewhere in the middle. (ie, we'll consider shipping free) Let me get some ideas on a fair price, and I'll get back to you in a day or two.
Did you ever decide what a fair price was?

I am so sorry. I didn't know if you were still interested. Right now everything is still in the shop anyway though. I should be getting it back anyday now, and then I will take it and get an opion. ..... Again, I'm sorry for not taking action sooner.

ANy chance this would fit on a 98 2200i? Is it still available?

Yes it is still available, and I think it would fit on that boat. I'm pretty sure the beam is the same for both boats.

No thanks. It's the one I have on my boat. I was just wondering since I'm buying some NVS speakers for it, wanted to let the guy know. He is building a data base on what his speakers will fit on so wanted to make sure I gave him the right data.
