That's all drought. I flew through Birmingham a little while ago and was amazed at how low the lakes around there were. You could make out a huge ring of exposed lake bottom even from 30k feet in the air. I wanted to take a trip up there in the late spring possibly but that might change if the level does not come back up.

"Man that is bad." I saw this lake on the news a few weeks back and at that time they estimated that there was about 60 days of water left and the normal consumption rate. Is that still the case? Did you guys get any of the rain that past up the east last weekend? Im sure it will take weeks of rain to get that lake back up to full pond.

As of today the lake is down 15 feet with no relief in sight. The marina I keep my boat at is all but shut down. I went by yesterday and they were moving the floating sales and fuel dock out to deeper water (what little is left). We need rain and I mean a lot of it. I guess the only thing to do now is to figure out more stuff to add to the boat, more bling, LEDs, subs, maybe a DVD player and removable flat screen mounted to the tower???

I was out on lanier for the 4th of july, i noticed it was even lower than last year, there were spots in the middle that were only a foot or two deep....looks to have only gotten worse since then

Man that sucks! Last year our local lake was down 12ft. Most of the ramps were closed because of low water. This year most of the ramps were closed because they were under water. The lake had risen about 12ft over pool. Thats about 24ft of lake level fluctuation. There is hope for next year!

Ahhh quit your cryin'! :p Seriously our lakes in Cali are down 75-150 feet! Some of them such as Folsom are dry and others are so dangerous you can't safely ride on them. If we don't have a wet winter this year there may not be any boating out here next season!

Sorry to see those levels so low, boys! You guys can always take a road trip up here north of the border. A lot of our lakes, here in BC anyways, are well in excess of 400ft. deep and wedged between mountain ranges, so the water level stays really high thanks to the snow pack melting and running down the mountains each spring. That being said I know at my mother in law's place in Saskatchewan, they have had the same problems because they're not getting the amounts of snow in the winter that they used to, so their lake levels are dropping a lot each year.

Last May our dock was about 250 yards from the water that was down 18 feet. Started raining in the middle of May, and by July 4th, had to cancel the party because the lake was closed the dock was under water as was half our lot. There is always hope for next year. Still ticks me off to drive down the street and see water flooding down the gutter and into the drain from some moron who cant adjust their sprinkler system. That is our lake water running down the drain.

That is scary. Looks like the west only it is not half as bad. This year we all need to be seeking a higher power asking for a good snow pack and spring season. If we don't we may not be wake boarding next year. Our lakes are lower than that.
