I need to replace the wax rope packing on the drive shaft as i've never done so and i'm leaking water into the boat. Anyone have any tips on getting this done? I've spent a little time on it and have found it very challenging to get the two plastic nuts unscrewed.:)

Re-packing the shaft isn't a huge project, but the new PSS seals are great. Very easy to work with and dripless. I would suggest putting one in instead of your current seal.
