So I'm looking for a pair of used tower speakers. Anyone selling any?

Or at least maybe where I can find some?

You might want to check out this thread on WakeWorld: http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/3183/478281.html?1185207279

yup I have checked ebay allot. craigs list ect...

haven't found anything decent yet. Everything is expensive.

So from that link it says that the speakers need to be firmly mounted to get good sound. So the quality of speaker isn't really a concern?

The person that did that write up is known for his stereo installs and has a lot of good advice to provide. Similar to Phil and SP on this website. Good luck.

Mikeski knows his stuff.

I had a pair of Evids and loved them. I put a little too much power to them and they blew. My amp could put up 500 Watts, at least twice what they were meant to handle. OOPS! The sound quality was excellent, and cheaper than any 4 can system I can find elsewhere.

My only concern is that without a head unit, you are hosed if you forget the ipod or if it goes out on you. I never, ever listen to the radio, but I do fall back on the CD when I am sick of the kids farting around with the Ipod, or if I forgot it, which has happened to me.

Do you have FAE? If so the speakers don't have to be nearly as powerful.

Good point, lucky.

I blew the Evids before I had the FAE. Might still have them if I didn't blow them trying to outdo the engine noise.
