OK I just finished with my system upgrade on my 2001 21I Type R. I added the new 400+ watt Clairion two Sampson tower speakers with PG Octane R's 6.5 w/ tweeter. A 10 inch bazooka marine sub. I had them put a cutoff switch for the towers, used the 80 watt stock clarion amp for the tower speakers and the new 400 watt amp for the 6 stock boat speakers (clairion also). The marine bazooka is a self contained 150 watt sub. This is one nice setup. Put the sub at an angle under the drivers dash. It sounds great anywhere on the boat. Didn't cut into anything! Very Very happy with this set up.

I did a similar system. 4 Alpine type R interior speakers with 400W Fosgate, 2 Sampson towers with Infinity's and 200W amp, 2-12" Fosgate Punch II subs with 500w amp.. i have a cutoff for the tower and subs.. I also threw in an extra Interstate Deep Cycle battery with Perko switch. The sampson speaker cans are by far the best I've seen yet.. dig em big time...
