Look for form 06-106 "Texas Claim for Refund of Gasoline or Diesel Fuel Taxes"

With fuel prices what they are, I figured that I'd be a good samaritan and post this. Basically, fuel consumed during "Off-Highway Use" (i.e. ON A LAKE!) is exempt from the 20 cent/gallon Texas gas tax. SO SAVE YOUR RECEIPTS!!!

Thanks for the reminder....I collected all of my receipts 2 summers ago, but never did anything with them. This summer, I'm definitely going to turn them in. Has anyone done it before?

We have something very similar here in Missouri. I did it for a few years, then I backed off the last two, but like Ruune says, with these prices, it's almost a necessity. I just saw that here in MO, it's 17 cents / gallon.
