Registration Numbers

First, any font suggestions for my color scheme/graphic?
Second, how long are your registration numbers?

I went today to get some made. I spent about an hour picking out the font and color. Then I had them printed. They were 24 inches long!! :eek: I asked if we could cut them down, and the designer told me that she squeezed them as much as she could and that squeezing them more would make it look really bad. At this point it is already 5:00 and they were closing. I'm really frustrted about the whole thing. I took pictures of the boat and everything but she was NO help. She didn't want to give her creative input on anything...just kept saying "whatever you think"..."its your decision". I wanted to headbutt her. :p

I was going to go with a charcol metallic vinyl to sort of match the colors in the graphic. I though black would look goofy. So would red if it didn't match exactly.

I'm not very good at things like this...so any input is appreciated.

I'd say our reg. #'s are 18" to 24" long and color scheme, i forget what color your boat is lol sorry

Check out a few good options under "Domed Number Group Buy" thread. I have a similar scheme and went with custom #'s to match the West Coast Graphic. Silver fade to Black with a few detail lines like the 22Ve' graphic.

Black on a chrome outline under the rubrail like the style below:

black or red would look fine. My suggestion, is go with black #'s with red shadows. Or try to chose a red and grey combo that will somewhat match your west coast graphic. Check out this pic of what I chose. I had the same hard decisions to make. I ended up going with the serpentine font black characters with white shadows. In VA it is required that the letters be a min. of 3" in heigth. I went and measured my reg "'s and they are 29" overall and 3" tall and they don't look too bad. If you get a cool font, it will just blend in with the rest of the awesome boat style.

I just ordered mine in navy blue with a yellow border from www.signspecialist.com. The website will let you pick colors fonts etc. I think I went with arial bold. They were just the right size. I will try to attach picture. You can't see the yellow border in the pics, but it looks good.

Hey, whos says they half to go on the boat, When ever I go out with my Dealer Stateamind Watersports (stateamind.com) they put there reg #'s on a peice of plastic and set it in the window, When we see Water Patrol, They look at us kinda funny and the driver will hold up the reg #'s and the Water Patrol wont say a word and be on their way and then you won't have to deface you High-Quality boat with those stickers, unless you spend $100 bucks for custom ones

Most State laws say the numbers have to be stuck to the boat. Dealers are the exception. Like a car dealer is allowed to use one "Dealer Plate" for all it's cars, a boat dealer uses a set of "Dealer Reg. Numbers" on a board or some thing that they can take along on each test drive.
