What do you guys have for new tunes this season?
My first pick is one for the whole family. Ugly Duckling-Journey to Anywhere. Killer beats from Young Einstien and rhymes that are just flat sweet. Very little profanity if any at all. Good for the whole family. I even got my mom going on them. "Tighter than a scuba suit".
My second pick is for grown ups. People Under the Stairs- OST. Not for the kids, however, they are my new favorite group, at least for this month. ;) These boys drink, smoke, fight and cuss. The beats are freakin' stellar and the rhymes tight. No glam, no glitz, just flat good. These guys have been beat diggin' for ages now and it shows. Hip hop for true Hip Hop fans.

Breaking Benjamin- Phobia
Chevelle- Vena Sera, This Type of Thinking Could Do Us In
Renee Renee-White Heat
Audiovent- Dirty Sexy Nights in Paris
Blue October- Foiled
Godsmack- Faceless
Sublime- Gold (Remastered Anthology)
Scissor Sisters- Tah-Dah!

We are just starting to put the wakeboard mixes together now...
We have plenty of time as we just got a foot of snow and there is still 8 inches of ice on the lake in many places.....
Here are some samples of what we have on so far....
Disturbed - Land of Confusion
Finger 11 - Paralyzer
Three Days Grace - Pain
Fall Out Boy - Arms Race
Multiple Rage Against the Machine Songs
Multiple Panic at the Disco songs
No kids songs to worry about yet....in a couple of years though.....

Soundgarden was the ****. Chris Corrnell can hit some notes that just scream. Loud Love is still one of my favorites.
On of my favoite soundgarden lyrics is
"'m looking California
And feeling Minnesota"
and
"I'm feeling that I'm sober
Even though I'm drinking"
Both from Outshined just classic lines of all time

Seriously, I thought he'd found my MP3 player.
I just added 311's greatest hits (I like the whole thing), Fallout Boy, Nelly Furtado (same songs as Coach), My Chemical Romance and some good 'ole George Thorogood.

I got the clean album of Fort Minor. Seems with my little ones getting to the point of knowing bad words I just buy clean versions anymore.
The classic time our kids were building in the sand and something fired me up and I dropped a few F-Bombs and the S word as well. In the whole sentence I had said Stupid. One kid turns back and told me that Stupid is a bad word and we shouldn't say it. Classic!

Reminds me of the time I was towing my previous boat down a narrow country road and almost went off the end of a cattle guard. I reacted with "Oh sh**!". For the next ten minutes I heard my 18 month old son repeat the second word a bunch of times as if it was really funny. While not his first word, definitely one of his first. My wife and I still laugh about it now. My son, who's now 14 is also in on the joke now and teases me about it from time to time.
It's scary how much your kids learn from you

Balair - I have gotten into the Kings of Leon in the last year, it was an aquired taste for me but once I got it I really starting digging them. I just started listening to their new album and it is growing on me also, again an aquired taste. They have a really interesting southern rock shuffle thing going on, pretty original. There are a couple on both albums that will make the "Lake" mix this year. I just saw that they are playing Austin City Limits Music Festival again this year, I am going to have to check them out. Last year it was so freakin' crowded we could not get near them.
Here are a couple more indie rocking bands that I thought of last night...
Muse - Absolution, Black Holes and Revelations
Sparta - Threes
Queens of the stonage - Songs for the deaf, Lullabies to paralyze
And another jam band...
Medeski, Martin and Wood - End of the world party, just in case

Hell yes! That fact that anyone on this board listens to MMW just made my day.
I'm finally getting into Fischerspooner. Another of the aquired taste bands.
Another one that is way off the charts that is really good is Andrew Bird's Bowl of Fire - The Swimming Hour. All the songs sound different, but they are all good.
If you can find it, Hazy Malazy - Hotoil Nutrub. Good 'ol fashioned rock-n-roll. Last I heard, they we're still unsigned so...
laketime- Tell me you have some J5. If you're into them check out Breakestra - Hit the Floor.
...and for the classics, 20th Century Masters put out a remastered Eric B & Rakim - 20 Greatest Hits. You can never go wrong with this one.
