Does anybody know what the laws are for strapping in your boat? Somebody snatched my straps last weekend and I had to drive it without. But I wasn't sure if you have to strap-in on the freeway or if it's ok on regular street roads.
Would it have been ok to just use some rope, or does it have to be a certain grade of strap?
Anybody got a ticket for not stapping-in?

That must depend on the state where you live. I am in Oklahoma and have never heard of any such law. I would give the DMV a call and ask... would suck to get $100 + ticket for missing a pair of $10 straps!!!

I would before you do anymore towing buy tow straps. A ticket may be cheaper than driving an unfamilier road and hitting a pot hole that could bounce your boat sideways. I dont think there is a specific law but that wouldnt stop CHP for pointing out the obvious.
People who steal suck......

Never heard of the law, but I'd be more scared of ruining my boat, by hitting a hole or bump. Just my .02
