My trailer is a tandem axle but doesn't have a spare. Anyone know if the dual axle will get you out of a flat tire pinch or should I get the spare? Tige's are heavy so I was concerned that one tire wouldn't cut it to the next stop.

I would get a spare. the 2 times I had blow outs on my tandem, the only way I knew was by luck of looking in the side mirror as rubber was getting thrown. After you blow one you will be happy you have a spare, there is a ton of weight on that one tire when one goes. besides, with the additional weight and if your traveling on hot pavement, you could lose the second one pretty easy.

I agree with blr, get a back up. They are cheap investments when you think about ruining your whole trailer, or boat, as opposed to spending the money and buying a spare for around a c-note.

Oh yeah,

make sure you get one that is rated for your boat. They have more sidewall plys to make them stronger. Don't get a weak one, that would be bad;)
