A friend sent me an article about a 23’1” gator that was in that lake.
Here are a couple of photos from the story

I don't go to that lake particularly, but do live close enough to know all about it. We were at a place called Cockroach Bay Aquatic Preserve last spring and there was a 12-foot female gator with a dead 6-foot male gator in her mouth...we were fishing in kayaks when we saw it:eek:

Makes me glad I live in Ca. the only thing we need to look out for is the occasional idiot.

Yeah, when it snagged that deer they started watching it closely and it started hanging out in backyards and was not afraid of people anymore. Sometimes they will try to move them somewhere else, but one that big was just not moveable. I think they are going to stuff it if I remember right because it is so big.

Anybody ski at Lake Istapoka?

I have a rule that precludes my boating in a lake in which gators measure 15% plus of the over all length of my boat.
