I have "Detention", and it is pretty good too. I'm interested in what people say about "the Book" too.

We've got the book and it is pretty comprehensive - even covers good boating tips.

eh...some aspects of the book are really lame. Such as, the length. Each section is stretched to a ridiculous length, and it seems just for the sake of being able to claim "over 2 hours of instructioN!!!"

IF you watch one section, you will see what I mean. The frickin' boat animations and all that are such a waste of space.

I feel that Higher Education is a DVD that I will never need to upgrade from it, it has pratically every trick.

I have both Detention and The Book. And I still suck.

For me, Detention doesn't have enough pointers and doesn't spend enough time breaking the tricks down. My favorite part of Detention is Shaun Murray's 'lawn start' and being dragged over the roots on his stomach.

I'd recommend The Book - it has been more beneficial for me, as someone else said in this string, helping to build a strong foundation. There are great warm-up drills that most of our crew use now for proper edging and body positions, and backside 180 sliding before we take it to the wake on our first runs of the morning. The Book does have alot of repetition, but I don't mind it - it helps reinforce things for me. Also, showing the link between tramp training and the moves on the water has helped me land and ride away some of the base inverts.

So I'd have to say I suck a little less after The Book purchase.

Another burner? Here's pretty much the baddest burner you can get for $40 if you have SATA.
