I want to get new board racks because the ones that came on our tower are so high I have to stand on the side of the boat to reach them and it's really a pain in the A$$. I am looking for something I can mount on the vertical bar so I can choose the hight of the racks. Some of the racks I'm looking at are Skylon, Monster, Fusion, and Titan. Anyone use any of these or recommend any othe racks.

The wakedesign racks rubber sucks. They're only two years old and I'm going to have to reorder the rubber straps and the insert.

Monsters are what I see recommended over and over by people with experience with others. I have no idea as all I have ever had are monsters.

Tige has a new vendor for the rubber bungies and inserts. Just got new ones put on mine. I'd ask your dealer, might be able to swap them out for you.

I had wakedesigns, hated 'em! They did replace both entire racks under warranty however I am going to just sell them. The finish they put on didn't hold up to my use in saltwater. I got the Monsters and so far they are leaps and bounds better. The chrome is starting to show some signs of wear with the salt, but overall they are weathering a lot better. My replacement wakedesigns to appear to have better rubber for the straps and fork pads, but I already bought the monsters by the time my replacement racks came in.

Had Monsters on my last Tigé and they worked really well and did not move or slip on the tower at all.

I have your same boat and unless you are darn near 7 feet tall the racks are really a pain. ;)

I have the Samson tower and racks on my 22i.

One set of racks on top and another set below that swivel.

I think they look great and are very functional.

So far I had them for three years and the finish is still like new.

One of the swivel racks is extra wide to hold a wake surf board.

I have monstors and they are great, but NVS has just come up with some really nice one's, and they hold 4 boards!:D

Monster Tower Racks are the best I've seen or used. I've got two Monsters on my WD tower giving me total storage for eight boards.

A few Pros for Monster Racks:

Single lever Quick release to remove rack from tower - no need to trailer with them on - no bugs!

Look good

Easy to load/unload boards

Mounting bracket is slip-proof if mounted horizontal (as you say you'll be doing). Note, if mounting on a bar that is anywhere close to 45 degree, put some double-sided tape on the inside and outside of the bracket insert sleeve(the tape will not be visible). This will prevent slipping without having to over-tighten your bracket (and splitting the plastic insert sleeve - yes, I'm speaking from experience).

Tigé finally replaced my wakedesigns racks with monster- these are by far the best I've seen. Billet parts that are machined from thick aircraft quality aluminum stock, rubber that doesnt dry rot in a matter of weeks, etc. These things have really held up. I'd recommend monster any day of the week!

The lower set look like the Fusion racks?????

Both the upper and lower racks are from Samsonsports out of Oregan. The tower is from them too.

I believe that the lower swing in rack is a one off design that they have not put into production. Really heavy duty and works great but they are probably too costly to build as it is all machined from heavy aluminum stock.

They have a similiar design for their new "Razer" towers but I had been bugging them for a retro fit to my older style towers.

Now if it only came with a clamp style to hold the boards in instead of using the bungy cords.

G-Money -

If I am not mistaken - you have the explosion tower (same as me) with the Airboom racks from Tige Watersports. You can lower the racks, but it'll leave marks on the tower. They don't use the rubber spacers when they install. I sold my Airbooms on wakeworld within a week, replaced them with the new 2007 Skylon removeable racks that I bought at the boat show. They are super sturdy and remove with a knob. That way, when I garage the boat, they don't get in the way and I can take them off if I leave the boat outside. The only draw back I see is not everyone likes the black powder coated back plate.

I don't have the explosion tower or the air boom racks I was thinking of getting air boom until I found out they will leave marks on my tower, so they got kicked off my list of passable racks. I liked the skylon racks and also saw them at the boat show but if I can get monster racks for only $220 and everyone is saying such good things about them I think I going to go with monster racks. Plus I don't think I can sell my old ones unless anyone with the same tower needs new racks??????? It sucks replacing something you paid for because of a bad design....... I'm glad Tigé stopped using the racks..........o well

I have the Xplosion tower and racks. They just came out with a pivoting and removal rack to which I am upgrading to. I haven't had a chance to use them yet until the ice melts further, but they are good looking and look well made.

I just looked at the website only $340 for swivel racks is a good price.
I might have to rethink my choice.

The advantage you have with Xplosion is that they are in your area if you have any problems and they are stand up guys. Good luck with whatever decision you go with!

For that vary reason I'm going to Xplosion Sat. morning to look/most likely buy the racks.

I have monster...they are well made and simple design, so no failure points. They're easily removed as well.
