Does anyone here have a Wake Designs tower on their Tige? In particular, the new Evolution Cockpit Style tower on a 22V? I thumbed through the gallaries but only saw the old Rat Cage towers.
Those with a Wake Design tower, how do you feel about the overall quality? I was told that they were not of high-quality construction. I also have heard bad things about the rubber bushing joints where the tower attaches to the boat.

The newer style Wake Designs towers are better than the Rat Cage. I have the Tige Edition Rat Cage and it has more wobble than I would like but not as bad as some other towers out there - and the Evolution style is stiffer and looks pretty cool! I actually debated on that one but didnt want to pay the $$ for it! As far as the bushings, no problem - its a good design and you wont have any issues.

I got my Wake Designs Tower from Kevin at Tige Performance Boats in AZ and had it shipped to Oklahoma. He is great to work with and they are just down the road from the Wake Designs factory so they really know the scoop!! 480-655-9055 is their #.

I'm getting it from Wake Designs....they had a few left over(they don't make the rat cage anymore) that fit my boat so they hooked it up for CHEAP!

I'm not sure...Krista @ WD said it was made specifically for tige'. I'll be happy either way. I just hope it doesn't wobble. My last boat had the ZeroFlex Flyer...that thing didn't move. We used to do back flips off the side of it.

Here is a shot of my 21i the the WD tower. I went with the 4 board rack on top instead of the sides to give a different look and the Fosgate 6 1/2 speakers from WD.

Dents, your boat looks awesome. The one I'm getting is brushed..I kinda wish it was white, but for the price I'm not complaining. Did it originally have the metcraft tower on it? Did you install it yourself?

Dents - Thanks for the info, I'm going to give them a call this afternoon. The tower looks really nice, so is the wobble bad?

My boat is a '98 model that did not come with a tower. I started with a pole and then went to the tower first of last year. I installed it myself and it was not hard to do at all. There is a little bit of wobble - more than a Skylon Swoop or Titan but way less than the Mastercraft Zero Flex! So I would call it average to above average in the wobble catagory.

Just called and talked to Terry ( Kevin is off today ). No pictures of the tower on the boat though : (
Have you had any issues with gel coat cracks around the installation points? I'd would imagine the flex offered by those bushing points would help against cracking.

Terry is great to work with also - he is the owner and Kevin is his son if I remember correctly. There is a 1/4" rubber pad that mounts between the tower and the boat and also on the underneath side between the plate and the boat - you should not ever have a cracking problem.

Here is the new Rat Cage tower design on a 22V. Wake Designs is suppose to be sending me some of the Evolution tower as well.

That is NICE! I like my original Rat Cage but that looks much better with the curved base instead of the more squared base like on mine! I actually called WD when I first saw that new tower to see if the curved base would line up with my top section - which it does not :(

Matt That is the tower I'm leaning towards, just waiting for some pics to see how it looks on a boat.

The tower on the blue boat is not a standard rat cage. If I remember right, they custom made the lower part so it would fold down and fit under a garage door.

cheeky Your right, this is the WD Monsoon tower which replaced the rat cage tower.
The pacific boat also has an extra removable piece on the rear arm that the standard towers do not have so it would fit in a standard garage door height of 7'.

I have the same tower as dents. It does move a little bit, but I don't think it's anything to excessive. I mean it a bunch of alumn, bolted to your boat, with multiple joints, so you are going to get movment. The only way to get truely no movement is to not have any joints, so there is no room for flex, but then you also can't take it down.
