I don't know if this has been discused but over at the malibu crew.com they have a section on group buys. Someone finds out about a product and sets lower price with the maker if enought people buy (bulk discount) and then will attempt to get enough people to get the better price. Example I have seen are props, fresh air exhaust, towels, etc....

The only thing I have in mind would be doing some nice towels with the Tige owners logo on them. I normally buy a bunch of nice white towels and put our names on it.

I know others have had intrest in props or at least a spare. Acme might cut a nice deal depending upon how many are ordered.

I would be down for the prop and the towel's.
( or the ACME prop kit that comes with the carrying case, wrench, puller and new hardware)

other things that come to mind:

-Box anchors ( for the guys that do not have them yet)
- Board rope and handles.
- Life jackets. ( with Tige' logo or something)

Lets build a list and go from there. the idea is great and the buying power should yield us good savings!

I will call ACME in the next day or two and find out what they might be able to do for us and how many props need to be ordered.

As for towels I put in a request to the guy who did the Malibu Crew Towels and I can check a larger embrodery place by me. I just need to get the OK and art work from Matt.

I am in contact with a few companies about having the Tigeowners Logo embroydered on a Terry Cloth beach towel. The towel I am looking at is 6"6' x 3"3' I think they might be able to do many color combinations. They make many towels for other boat manufactures like Hallett, Ultra, LaveyCraft, Magic, etc... We are working out some things and they are getting back to me with a price.

I'm there with the towels, even though we have about 400. My wife seems to think we need a different set, color, style or whatever each time we go out.

I'd also be interested in a pull over type embroidered jacket. Waterproof golf type would be ideal.

Yep....I got an email they are raising the pricing next year....I think they are overpriced as is...I would think something like that should be in the $150-$200 range. Message I got said they are going to nearly $400......Guess I'll mark it off my list.

Steve

The 96 and 97 are likely the same. If you would please, print the attached form and send me the measurements from your boat. I can then design the system for your boat. The 96 is listed at $369 so I will set that as the price unless the 97 is lower. This is the current price. Our projections for next season show the price at $387. We will be increasing the price probably in January.

Come on....I mean its a few aluminum elbows, some joints, and a little rigging.

Time for a DYI project!!! A few guys on WW have made their own. I am sure with the right equipment and a some work you can make it happen. Even better is make a PDF file of how to DYI a FAE system and sell it for a few bucks.

It looks like the Price for a Maui Towel is going to be between $45 to $50 depending upon number of towels that guys buy and cost of shipping. I am waiting for another guy that did some towels for cheaper. Here is the web site for the Maui Towel so you can see some of the other work they have done.

The Maui Towel runs $35, the embroidery is $15, $3 dollar set up fee, and I am guessing about $5 to ship. So if we have less than 12 it would run $58 each. If we have between 12-30 the price would come down to about $50 each, and if we get more than 30+ it would drop to about $46 each.

Coach, they look great but $50 (average) dollars a towel seems steep to me, maybe its just me being cheap? Do they do screen printing, I bet that would lower the cost.

Oh ya and that sucks they dont have orange!

I am with you about the price. I am looking at a few other options that might be cheaper. The big cost is the towel itself. I am looking to a guy that did some towel for themalibucrew.com and they were about $25 a towel.

I found out my neighbor's Mom does embrodary so I am finding a price and trying to get some sample on the towels. I think $50 a towel is too much and not the way I want to spend it. I am trying to get the towels for $25 each with the logo. I should have more info in the coming weeks. Either way I will try to have a group buy before the season starts.
