I just dropped my 20I in for its firts 100 hour maintenance and they suggested I replace the impeller. It seems early to me, but I'm new to the inboard world.
So how often do you guys replace your impellers?
Thanks

I'd go ahead and do it. My friend does it like every 150 hours, it's cheap insurance so that your day of fun isn't ruined.

I'd have to agree with domslude. I now change mine every year after learning the hard way :D
If you want to get technical, I believe it all depends on what kind of water your boat is in. Sandy or muddy water tends to make the impeller wear out more quickly.

How hard is it to change, I have a Mec 5.7 non fuel injected. Maybe they could put the instructions for all boats on the downloads section of the forum??!?!?!?!?!

Which model do you have? I've got a V-drive and it takes more time than a direct drive, but it's not that hard.

I'm not familar with that model. If it's a V-drive, I took pictures when I did mine. I can send them to you if it'd help.

Mike, I still have those pictures that you took when you replaced yours...I will probably make a quick photo page on the impeller so everyone can see it. I don’t know what you did on each picture so you may have to comment on it if you don’t mind.
