Seating capacity

Is it manditory for boats to have the seating capacity posted? I have a 02 21v and have never seen the sign.

I think it is only "mandatory" on boats smaller than 21 feet.

Every boat that I have owned: 17 ft, 21 ft, and 24 ft have had the weight capacity posted. Typically, it is just a sticker. Perhaps yours got peeled off?

my 03 21ir doesn't have it. The dealer said it's yacht certified. No clue what that means, but I got pulled over for having 17 people in it, and If I would have had one more vest the ranger would have let me go. He said if there is no sticker your fine as long as you have the vests.

That makes sense, I guess?? How can they prove you're over the limit unless you're sinking (lowrider) like the picture that was posted on another thread a few days ago.
