View Full Version : WHICH BOAT DO WE BUY???
We are a group of three who wakeboard on a lake in Chichester, England. It is a resonably small lake and shallow in places - down to as little as five foot. We have approx. $20,000-27500 dollars to buy and export a TIGE boat (secondhand). We have looked at all the spec and feel that the 20i riders is a good option. Are we right or can you suggest another. Cheers:D :

if all your doing is wakeboarding, get a v-drive

I have a 1999 Tige 2200V for sale...email me at smouch671@yahoo.com and I can send you pictures and list of options
Whats the difference between the i and v series. On a v series is the prop on a liftable leg at the rear of the boat as in a bayliner?:D

no, that would be a sterndrive. The I series uses a direct drive (or I-drive, since the drivtrain makes an "I" in a straight line)- straight driveshaft from the engine/transmission to the prop. A V-drive has the engine turned backwards, then goes through a transmission that makes a "V" (hence the name), and sends the driveshaft out the hull to the prop.

Oli have you contacted Mike McCafferty at Midland Marine in Nottingham, he is the Tige dealer for the UK. He should be able to set you up with a boat in the UK without you having to take the risk of importing and paying import duty and TAX
BRENDAN
BOATS IN THE UK ARE APPROX 1.75 TIMES THE PRICE THEY ARE IN THE USA AND DO NOT HAVE AS MANY OPTIONS!! IMPORT TAX IS ONLY VAT + APPROX 1%. iT ALL WORKS OUT A LOT CHEAPER - MORE FOR YOUR MONEY!
