As much as I wanted to be part of the Tige family, I have unfortunately started down the path of Malibu ownership due to price. I wish I could buy a boat out of my area because other dealers seem to be so much cheaper.

I also have looked at Malibu and found that the new Switch series are Very competitive in price. Are you saying that Malibu blew these prices away??, and what model Malibu are you looking at the Sportster.
maybe a nice fruit basket or a sympathy card is in order here.
if what your saying is correct, it's too bad that a dealer can have that effect. can you drive to another dealer to buy your boat and then just have the local dealer service it? or are you afraid of their service if you don;t buy it from them? i know that tige frowns on not buying from your local dealer, but this sounds like it's worth an exception.

Wow...Sorry to hear it Pooh.
Around here the Tige and the Malibu would be about the same price for similar set up. I just shopped both recently.
poohpotta,
Sorry to hear that as well, if I may ask what type of price diffrence are we talking, and on which models?? Are these both new boats not demo's, and are they optioned out apples for apples?

Out here in So. Cal. I checked on both and found that similiar boats from Malibu and Tige were not similiar in price. I found out that Malibu was much more expensive.

Up here in canada Malibu is way more expensive than Tige, Mastercraft was the only one in the same price range when I was shopping.

To me, a 22V is the same as a 21 VLX beacause you lose foot if not more due to the rake in the transom. I can get a VLX with a T/A trailer, 340 EFI Monsoon, SS rub rail, swoop tower, bow cushion insert, wind screen, bolster seat, basic stereo ( Sony AM/FM/CD/MP3 and 4 blast spearkers ) for $39,450. For a similar setup on the Tige I was quoted $46,950!! He quoted me $38,000 for a 21i where the Malibu dealer quoted ne $32,995 on a standard Wakesetter similiar in configuration!

Ya it's all in the options man, you start adding up the options on each diff brand and that's where the diff is, comparing apples to apples in the options is way diff. My boat has almost every available option on it and to get the malibu it woulda cost me an extra $10,000. Nautique was an extra $22,000 both for the same comparable styles and exact same options. If your gonna go with a base price then ya gotta look at the overall quality of the boat and still in my opinion Tige comes out on top, never compromise your quality dude;)

Not yet man, still lotta snow and ice up here in canada:( Only another 2 months left to wait:eek:
Poohpotta,
Thats a pretty good price. I've looked at a lot of boats new and used the past 4 months for my brother inlaw and we didnt see a 2 year old W VLX for the under 40K. Was that the Wakesetter?
Anyway I'm sure you will have fun with what ever you get,Tige or not.

Yes, That is a Wakesetter VLX. That particular Malibu dealer is an 1.5 hour drive from me, the local Malibu dealer is high. He wants $42,500 for the same boat. I was hoping to at least get the 20V below $40K from my Tige dealer. I found a 20V demo for $34K but my dealer said he won't service a demo or new boat bought at another dealer.
