22i and 21i

My husband and I have an '04 22i presently. We love it!! We are considering a 21i with a larger engine than we have now and b/c my husband and son barefoot. I would like to know what the wake difference is btwn 22i and 21i. We are a little worried about doing trade b/c my son is also very into wakeboarding. He is seven and we are afraid at 10 the 21i will not throw a good wake????

We demo'd both models in August - just bought an '05 22i. The wakeboard wake seemed a little larger in he 22i - slalom wakes seemed the same.

We really dig the 22i seating - best seating of any boat I've been in - Ddrive or Vdrive. 8 crew can sit with their feet and head facing the rider = no strained necks . Yes, the 21i has the stadium seat, but I didn't think we'd want to flip it back and forth, etc.

Anyway, the 22i is the package for me.

I have a 03 21 i.We are installing ballast this winter.Up to now we use a 350# sack in rear conpartment and a 350 in walkway.My son [18] does 360s some 540s and several inverts with no complants with 4 or more people in the boat.Seating on the 21 i is differnt because of sundeck.

What about some engine performance modifications. Then you can keep your 22i as it is.
