Another way to look at it: He made a bona fide offer. If you accept it, you have a contract and he is obligated to deliver.

(Technically there must be value flowing both ways to have a contract, but perhaps the publicity he's getting here counts. The free wakeskate could be considered a loss leader, a common advertising technique.)

So when can we each expect delivery of our free wakeskates, as offered and accepted? {grin}

Baby #2 came for me, my wife went into labor and she said "Hey, I'm in labor - time to go"
I said "Okay, lemme just finish what I'm doing here on the boat. Gimme about 15 minutes."

Perhaps what she meant was "Time for YOU to go" (i.e. leave). To which you could have said "If that's what you really want, honey" and scored another day on the boat!

Sometimes you need to be creative in your interpretation.
