Saw the 22ve today @ skihut. 1st off, sorry, I didn't take any pics.

Here's a few differences I noticed between it and the 22v.

Bow is narrower, but seems a little longer.

Glovebox area looks bigger, but actual internal space is about half of the 22v

Windshield has a cool etched border and comes back about an extra foot and so does the rear tower leg.

Rear deck lids don't seem to have as much padding. Reminds me of a european car seat vs seats in a Tahoe or something. Don't know if thats a good analogy or not.

rear compartments seem a little smaller, (to make room for the transom seat) and there's a stardard 40ish qt Igloo cooler back there. Just like you the one you probably have sitting in your garage.

Transom seat with 3 part storage. 1 lid for with a cooler (might hold a sixer), and 2 lids for one larger compartment for ropes, binding lube, etc. They lids don't lock, but the hinges are spring loaded to keep em down.

The sun deck is smaller to make room for the transom seat.

Transom walkover on the starboard side, with a removable cushion and fiberglass lid. I wouldn't trailer it with the cushion in place as it doesnt have any physical restraint other than wedging it into place.

The rear corner cushions are carpeted underneath so you can flip them over so people can walk to the transom with out messing up the vinyl.

Engine seems stuffed in the compartment, with the tansom seat and the new mufflers taking up quite a bit of room. It'd be nice to be able to access the impeller/water pump from the middle transom compartment, via some sort of pull removable tray, because I have no idea how you will be able to work on it otherwise....

Interior layout is similar with the exception of the seat behind the driver. It's extended to cover where the entry step is on the 22v. Plus with the tower and windshield extending further back, you probably get more protection from the elements. You will definately be using the step over transom to get in and out or go from one boat to another.

Dash is quite a bit different visually.

This one had the speed set cruise control. I'd like to see how it works.

All in all there are some pretty cool things going on with the 22VE, and it distinguishes itself enough from the 22v. I've already got my 22v, but if I had it to do all over again, I'm really not sure which one I'd choose.

Interested to hear if anyone has anything to add or has ridden behind it.

Thanks for the detailed comparison Lucky! When the Tige press release on the Ve series came out it wasn't clear whether this was an additional series or was replacing the V series. Interesting that both will be available.

What was the difference in MSRP between the 22V and 22Ve? Does the new standard three year bow-to-stern warranty apply to all new 2006 models or just the Ve series?

We're going to place an order for spring 2006 delivery. We've moved up to Canada from the U.S. and there is only one Tige dealer within the Province of Ontario. I'd be curious what others run into with dealer density in the U.S., and whether they negotiate I'm very concerned that with the next nearest dealer in N.Y. state, our local dealer may not deal much. I'd appreciate any insights. Our option is to deal with cross-border issues I guess...or if things are really bad to go with our next brand option beyond Tige.

06 ve (http://www.tigeowners.com/photos/showgallery.php?cat=506&password=0&page=1)

Here are some pics that Matt Garcia posted with just about everything I mentioned.

I'm not sure about the warranty, I thought it was 3yrs for all 06's. As far as the MSRP. I didn't want to know since I ordered min about 2 months ago : )

CFord,

the guys at Port Sandfield are great! Johnathen and Derrick are really good guys. Make sure you talk to them.

Thanks Bog, we're already talking to Derek, which is what concerns me. Gave me a REAL low-ball on the trade value of our existing boat...

I would hate to be a canadian dealer and deal with trades. When the dollar was strong, boats cost you guys more. Now the dollar is weak so new boats cost less but it messes up used boat values. Derek is not trying to hose you, he's in a tough situation.

It definitely looks narrower than a 22V in the photos. 98" beam?

The 22v and 22ve have the same 102" beam.

Anyone getting estimated cost for the new 22ve? Sure is a nice lookin' boat!!

Only thing I could get (which isn't much) is that the MSRP for the 22Ve is $4 K Canadian ($3.4 K U.S.) more than the MSRP for the 22V. Couldn't get the actual MSRPs.

there's no way those Billet tower inserts are worth an extra $3400....

Agreed Lucky...looks like you're paying for the walk-through transom and the 40 quarter cooler - how many of thoe do you have lying around your garage?!

Lee, how much for a set of the wheels and tires on that trailer? They are much cooler than the set on my 05 Phoenix trailer.

Hi Lee,
Is that Black or Polo Green? If it is Polo would you send me some photos, I have a customer that would like to see that color.
Thanks,
Karen Nelems

The tires & wheels would be $225 per combo.

The boat is Black and Mushroom.

Sorry to get on my soapbox about an issue important to me....but I couldn't wait to sit on those seats when it's 110 degrees outside! It looks pretty, but Ouch and Hot are right! They tell me that I could not get the seat bottoms in a light color without very expensive special ordering. Is that true?

If Tige doesn't fix this when I start looking (likely 2007), I will start looking at other brands. I've owned two Tige's and have been loyal, but I refuse to play hopscotch on the sundeck or seats because they are 175 degrees. My first Tige did not have such extensive dark vinyl.

Ok, rant over, I feel better.

That color is mushroom and we do not do that very much, mostly do platinum.

Id have to agree about the dark colored vinyl, no way would that work in the Texas sun here.

My very light grey vinyl used to get so hot, I could not imagine stepping on that.

I've noticed that light gray, brown , dark blue, whatever, gets about the same temp (HOT). Only thing I have found to not get hot is white...
