Bimini Install Question

Tried putting on the bimini top this weekend and ran into a little snag. Looks like the attachments on the bimini are attached opposite of the connections on the tower. Hard to explain so I attached a photo. Is this a manufacturer defect or installer error? I am assuming the latter but thought I'd check. Thanks for any suggestions!

That looks to me like a defect. That stud should be spun around. If you can't spin it, I would think warranty would replace it for you.
