I can not find what type of oil filter I need for my 350 mag. Help please!!
I've heard that Baldwin is a good brand, but what type?
Thank you
You need a Mercruiser 35-802885T oil filter.

Thank you very much
The thread on Auto vs. marine serpentine belts got me thinking. Do any of you use a FRAM or similar auto oil filter instead of the Mercruiser (Quiksilver) marine oil filter? Is there any difference that any of you motor buffs can tell? Besides being cheaper they're easier to come by and have the easy grip bottom.

I have in the past used a Mobil 1 oil filter applicable for a corvette (5.7 liter LT-1) of the same year. Got the idea after talking it over with Tige MD and other boat mechanics. Had no problems and actually the reason I have not used the Mobil 1 the last couple oil changes is because both the MerCruiser and Sierra oil filters are more economical. I suppose a Wix, Mobil 1 or other quality oil filter would From my own personal opinion, I am not sure I would go with the Fram.
do not use fram oil filters=low quality. best bang for your buck is a napa gold oil filter part#1069 for ur 5.7L. i use them with great success on boats and cars/trucks/suv ect..stick with there gold line they are a very high quality filter. there silver line is still better than a fram. i have been wrenching for 18yrs. i use the napa gold filters on my stuff and have never had a single problem. dont skimp on the oil either and even more important you use the right weight with the right specs. kko
