that or just get a friend that has a boat opposite of your own. I wish I had a friend with a 24V so I could get a 196 ProStar.

We went out last night -- Even Mud Lake was bad. We surfed out in the lake. The cruise control had a hard time keeping a constant speed due to the push from the large waves. We kept the rope handy in times of emergency. Surfed without ballast and we kept switching from regular to goofy side and had the passengers move with rider. Wasn't too bad of wake without ballast and 3 scrawny teenagers.

Still had fun!

We were out there that morning and right at 12 noon the wind started blowing. I got to ski when it was still smooth but by time we went to surfing it was blowing.

Find a partner for a separate ski boat. About 5 years ago I went in half with my son-in-law and daughter on a '95 Ski Nautique, closed bow (great boat!). We split the $11k and it was great. He is a pilot in the Air Force, so when they transferred last year they sold it for roughly what they paid for it. Three guys who work together bought it and split all costs 3 ways. They go out before work 3 to 4 times a week together. And they have the typical I/O boats for their families. Find ski buddies and split the costs on a shared ski boat.

I am headed out today for a set. :ro: :ro:

Bout the only thing I have learned this season is that I am getting older and the runs are getting shorter. :( But I've been having a blast!!!

Wow 3-4 times! I'm very envious of you! We try to make it out once a week, but the past few weeks have been booked solid! I did just get a Radar Theory for the chunky days and newer skiers on the boat...not sure if I entirely like it. But when I switch back to the F1X it feels like a freaking Ferrari. I'll have to get a wake shot this weekend.

I'm playing with the binding positions as the nose has a lot more surface area than my other skis...I bought the blank on Ebay for dirt cheap (it was a blem), and put some Connelly Nova boots on it from our local shop (so it will fit a wide range of peoples feet). You are right its a fun ski when you want to stay out longer, but definitely need to drop the speed by a few mph.

if you really want it to come alive try getting an adjustable fin block. Not sure what the numbers are for that ski though. Great 30 mph ski

Polar opposite. :) Its nice to know I can both ways and still get descent wakes. I am spending more time skiing now than surfing.

Joe keep up the skiing. I spent the last week in San Clemente surfing. So I have not been on my boat or ski for week now. :(

Where did you go out in San Clemente? Did you get that nice south swell that came in? Its funny how I use to surf 5-7 days a week living near the ocean. Now I'm lucky if its 7 times a year :(. Luckly boating and skiing is filling in the void nicely.

Oh and the wake shot was with 4 people in the boat too...

Wow! Beautiful non-wake!

I tried to slalom ski this past weekend but wasn't able to get up on the ski :( I have some Jobe water ski's (cheap I'm sure) and one of them has the boot for the 2nd foot and we were trying to get up on that. Is it even possible?

KonaKing

Try and demo a bigger ski (wider) Arms straight, and plant your butt on the back of the ski knee's to your chest. When you break out of the water thrust you hips forward and your on your way.

Went out yesterday afternoon, sorry no wake or ski pictures, just nice water every direction you looked....I saw two other boats wakeboarding/skiing all afternoon (and a few fishing boats). It was glorious day.

I finally had a friend on my boat who knows the proper technique for slalom skiing...He runs at the course 36mph and 15 off. He helped me out with my turn and pull tremendously! I guess you can only learn so much from watching Andy Maple ski on youtube.

I'm so sore today I can barely walk (sure feels good)!

Head on down to St. George, the season lasts longer, especially with a dry suit.

Exactly. My sister in law has a place 100 yards from Sand Hollow in Dixie Springs. I plan leaving the boat there for the winter this year my goal is to get every month this winter. :ro:
