demo one of the slingshot boards, always wanted to try one. My last board was a Liquid Force 133 PS3 that I broke my back riding, cant wakeboard anymore. But If I were to buy a board right now, I would check out the new LF boards, they have some cool stuff they are doing and the slingshot, I love the idea of flex. Havent read much on hyperlite or cwb lately.

Just surf :)

Hyperlite B-Side 142. My son rides a Hyperlite 119 Motive. I don't think there is a big difference between most companies. They have boards that are similar depending on how much money you want to spend.

The Watson is an awesome board. 09 is the same as the 10 classic watson.

I ride a slingshot recoil now. If I was getting a different board it would probably be the Watson Hybrid for the best of both worlds, thats the board Shawn Watson has been riding all the time now on rails and boat.

OK, so seriously, how much does the board matter? I have just a basic CWB Sol and have been trying my first invert. I can "almost" make it around, but would a different board make any difference at all?

I can do Tantrum, Rolls, Rolls to Revert on my OG Wake Tech Flight 69 board. Once you have the trick dialed you can pretty much rock it. However the board will always help you learn!!!

I ride a Slinghtshot Response with Ronix Cell bindings. Love both, especially the slippery smooth carving on the SS.

My bindings are tattered and worn. Was going to get a pair of SS bindings but they canceled their 2010 model

CWB Kink '09 with CWB Zeus Evo '07 bindings (hinge tech, gotta have it if you have big feet).

Love this setup - looks sharp, and got a steal on it last summer from a shop up in Wisconsin. The combo has really advanced my riding and the binders are way better than my beginner board (as long as you don't expect them to let go of you). I'm not ready for inverts yet - but my friend who does them, flys easy on this setup versus when he was using my older/beginner board (I think it was a '06 CWB Faze with CWB Seven bindings - big deep fins)

The Kink does have adjustable fins that slide in and out, depending on how much tracking you want - I've never adjusted them - I'm pretty sure I have them set to advanced cause it rides like ice when you have butter until you get used to the freedom. Anyone else use/comment on the adjustable "sliding" fins from CWB?

I have the same exact board (146). I have moved the fins back and forth but haven't noticed a huge difference. Regardless of the location, the board still breaks free easily. It is fun to do side-slides and lip-slides with. :D I have no plans to do inverts but a friend who is a decent rider (normally on a Lyman 143) rode mine and really liked it.

I have the '08 Faction bindings. You gotta love the Hinge Tech!!! :ro: The best way that I have found is to lock in the heel first, then just barely snug the laces. This allows good board control and still have an escape route for your feet in a crash.

The top of my board is fading quickly from sun exposure in the board racks. It looks more brown than black. Which reminds me, I need to try to do something about that! :o

i never understood that haha.

Because wakeboarders are way too cool to associate themselves with Ski companies.

Hence Hyperlite & HO...of course now Bob Archer & Kent Sporting goods owns everything anyways so it really doesn't matter...

I figure haha it just seems way to repetitive, Connely Wake Board Board co. i think CWB covers it just fine.

Do they make a plate to adapt other bindings to the slingshot? I have the original slingshot bindings and am not a fan. I rode a board with some hinge bindings and loved them.

There are a ton of good wakeskate finds on ebay. All skates are going to ride differently & some skates are going to last forever & some wont last a season...I'm bias of course;)

But if you find something, let me know & I can give you the pros/cons of it.

Looks like you got the steal of the century on that one!! CONGRATS :ro:
I have the 2008 Ibex, the one you got is the exact same except for the colors, they did not change anything on the design of the board or riding style. It is very free when you are relaxed, but as soon as you lock into an edge it holds very well, and the POP is amazing!! Looks like you will have a great rest of the summer with that board.

So far I am liking the board. 3 stage pop took some getting use to..well I am still getting the hang of it. But man does it pop off the wake. I am going higher with less effort. The thing I love about this board the most are the landings. It lands softer than my old board and it also sticks. My old board would tend to slide out alot. Over all I am very happy with it and would rec. to anyone wanting to try a 3 stage board. Plus @$150 plus $27ship. It was a steal IMPO.
