I can't wait... we are dragging the 24 out from Atlanta for a week at Powell. Should be a good time!

How is the water level? I see it is coming up...

Water temps are in the low 70's, air temp in the high 80's, and the water level is comming up fast! It came up 6 feet the four days we were there.

With the water rising did you notice any more debris in the water?

Were you down at Wahweap? What part of Powell was that?

It looks like a great time.

Wow! That's a long tow from Atlanta! It will be worth it though!

TeamAllen, There was not much stuff floating. just a tumble weed here and there.

talltigeguy, We camped in the San Juan river arm. Only place to go if you want flat water.

cmb22V, Have you been to powell before?

We will be there the same time. We will be out of Page doing the hotel thing at the Courtyard Marriott. Good eats in town and a good bed to sleep in, but not my favorite way of doing the lake.

We will be in Page also. Some Condos my friend told us about. They are affiliated with the Best Western somehow. Three bedroom 2 bath, kithchen and stuff. It should be a good time. We plan on launching @ Antelope Point private dock and renting a slip so you don't have to trailer every day. How about you?

Gizmo,

The san juan is a long ways from any marina, isn't it? Where's the nearest fuel station and where did you launch from?

We launched from Antelope point. The San Juan is 50 miles from there.
Dangling Rope marina is at mile 41, there is no road access but it has fuel, food, ice, and a snack bar. It is only 10 miles from the San Juan river opening. This is the best part of the lake because its 50 miles from the nearest ramp. Most Jet skis wont go that far in. I have camped and boated all over lake Powell, from lone rock beach , and labyrinth canyon to the cookie jar and warm creek up to Bullfrog and Hait. But the San Juan Is the best Ive found. Rainbow Bridge is only 5 miles from it and it always has flat water! There are several bays in the San Juan that are miles accross. Just keep an eye your fuel, It takes about 8 gallons to get from the bay inside the San Jan to Dangling Rope. I keep 10 Gallons in the front hatch under my sub just incase. I also bring 40 galons to camp so I dont have have hit dangling rope everyday.

We'll be there on a houseboat from the 12th to the 18th. It is always a great time- the best scenery + water = great times. We useually hang out around West and Face Canyons and Padre Bay is great. There are always other people, but it is big enough to find smooth water. The memories are priceless.

My favorite canyon to camp is Escalante, similar to the San Jaun I just think it has more senic stuff. That trip is planned for July 18 to the 22. That is when the 24V goes up against the X30 and wakesetter VLX. I still have a few issues with tige' that hopefully will be resolved next week. I think the tige' will be the tow boat of choice. The June trip is with my siblings and there families. They are not hard core, cabin cruisers which is a great way to go and see the lake, but when it comes time to throw a line and tow someone those things are beasts to be behind. I am stoaked for summer to get here. In northern Utah it has been a cold spring and very wet. It is snowing in Park City today I have a bout three inches on the car in about three hours. Bring on the sun.

Yeah, we moved out to Atlanta from Durango, CO about two years ago. My girlfriends family has a small houseboat there, and I have rented a houseboat on three other occassions... I love that place.
