My TAPS works great when going to the wakeboard range, but seems to struggle going back to the slalom setting. When I tried it yesterday, it now won't go past 2 or 3. Am I right in suspecting it might be low on fluid? How and where do I check the fluid? Thanks.

I checked mine this weekend, All I did was remove the cover over the pump and there is a little dipstick, I dont what the correct amount of fluid is suppose to be on the stick, mine had none so I added some untill it was in the middle of the stick. Does any one know the correct amount to add??? Tige MD??????

the dip stick is not a dipstick at all. just a plug. on the side of the white resevoir is a sticker with the full mark on it. the white plastic is barely tranparent enough to see the fluid level. you just have to look close. the system should hold approx. 22oz. of tranmission fluid. check the level with the plate up (wakeboard).
if you filled it that high you will probably want to drain some out. if trans
fluid gets into your carpet it will be ruined.

no, they are pretty much trouble free. an occasional leak out the ram, other than that, they are good.
I have an 2002 22I. The TAPS pump in behind a small acess plate.
I can see that the resovior is nearly empty whith the plate up. I can't
see how to add the fluid. It is very cramped in there. How do you add
the fluid. My TAPS slowly creeps back to wake position only when the
boat is moving. Will adding the fluid fix this ?

adding fluid is the first thing to do. the pump sits in a small bracket that it lifts up and out of. most of the time there is enough slack in the lines to move to where you can work with it. on top of the pump there is a smoked plastic cover, remove the one and only screw at the top middle and lift the cover off. you will see a small round black cap in one of the corners, that is the fill hole. you will need some dexron III trans fluid a very small funnel and some paper towels. here is a little trick i figured out some years ago, when you add fluid to the funnel run the pump down, run the plate back up and check the level, always add the fluid while running the plate down, it actually pulls the fluid into the pump. no burping of fluid and air.

Ok, I took a multi-meter, and traced my TAPS wiring. It all seemed good. I got to a distribution box, under the dash. When i press the trim on the throttle, nothing happens. No noise... nothing. But with the meter, I can see there is current flowing. After the distribution box, I can't tell where the wires are going. I think they are a black and a black/red wire going to the battery, but I didn't see any fuses. (Wouldn't matter though, because I already knew that there was a connection)... I then looked under the dash, for the resevoir. Couldn't find it. I looked in the engine compartment, and found the Bennet cables, and the green cable. Couldn't find the resevoir though. Two questions. 1) could the distribution box be bad? 2) Where is the resevoir on a 2003 20i?

the taps pump is under the driverside dash, inboard forward of the bulkhead. do you have power in the small black wire going to the throttle handle? if so, is there power in the red or white wires when you cycle the taps switch up or down?

I have power to the red and white wires coming out of the throttle handle. Last night I used some wire, and jumped the connection at the pigtail for the motor. It went up and down, so it isn't burned up. I have narrowed the search to the distribution box that is mounted right under the steering column. I am going to call my local dealer at 9, but if they don't have one, how can I get one? Is this under the Bennet warrenty, or is it a Tige part?

PERHAPS THERE MIGHT BE A SHORT IN WIRES FROM ROCKER SWITCH!!! (IN THE HANDLE???)
