After looking at everybody's new boats, I decided it is my turn. I want a new - slightly used (less than 100 hours) boat. I live in Texas just outside of San Antonio and am willing to drive to get what I am looking for. This weekend, I looked at axis boats, mastercraft, and of course Tige. In the end, I found a 2008 Z1 with 29 hours. The owner is asking 41,000 for it and I was just wondering if he is asking too much or if it is a fair price. Let me know what other information you need. I am going to thank everybody in advance. Great forum.

That doesn't sound too bad to me. If it is what you are looking for and it has been taking care of I would go for it. I am sure you could probably even talk a few thousand off.

It's not a bad price but what are you getting for warranty? There are 08 Z1's out there still with zero hrs and full warranty near that price

I would strongly consider that. You know Dom will be willing to stand good on his deal as much as possible from a long distance. A brand new boat is very tempting. I think that puts the used 08 in persepective very well. 42K for a used 08...the guy is smokin crack.

I am going through the dealership and they said the warranty would be transferred to me.
Thanks for everyone's help so far. I think I can talk the '08 down a bit now. That brand new '09 seems like a steal, but that does not help my financial situation... I will shoot out some PM's.

Keep in mind that the warranty on an 08 is parts and labor on the first year only so you would now be responsible for all labor costs going forward. I have not had a warranty claim yet but the few things that are on my radar the parts would be cheap compared to the labor:02:

Good point and I will take that into consideration.
Question: What is the height from the floor to the tower on the '08 Z1 vs the '09 Z1 with the Alpha Z tower? Is there a considerable difference between the two?
Also, today I heard when Metcraft made the illusion towers for Malibu, they were having problems with pins shearing off and spider-cracks in the gel coat due to stress from double-ups and choppy water. Do you think these problems will be an issue with Tige?

For that same money I would get a used 22Ve but that's just my opinion.

I do not know the exact answer, but the Alpha Z tower is going to be about a foot shorter, if not more.
