He all

I am in the process of updating my vehicle to tow my new 22v (due end June). I saw on the www.tige.com site that the boat is 3945 lbs DOES THAT INCLUDE THE TRAILER or NOT. If not what is the combined mass?

Hope you'all can help.

Karl

It does not include the trailer.

I don't believe it includes the tower, any ballast system you may have (filled, unfilled or lead), or gas.

Add 1,200 lbs for the trailer, about 150-175 for the tower (someone please correct me on this one, it's my estimate) and 38 gallons at 8 lbs / gallon for gas.

Using these numbers, your rig comes to 5,600 give or take a few pounds.

Don't forget to add the weight of your gear if you're taking a week's vacation somewhere and decide to put it in the boat.

I tow a 22V with a Ford F-150 with the towing package. That towing package gives me a 6500 pound towing capacity. It includes a higher ratio rear-end, transmission cooler (mandatory for towing), engine oil cooler, bigger radiator, trailer wiring, larger brakes, and a heavier duty transmission.

Tell your dealer what you are towing and they can configure a proper vehicle. Remember also that pulling is not the real issue (except up a ramp), but stopping that puppy. Make sure your trailer brakes are in good shape and working.
