stereo question

Thinking about replacing my stereo. Was wondering if anyone out there has a car stereo(non-marine) head unit and if so, have you experienced any problems? Keep in mind I store my boat indoors. Is there really that much difference between the two??

I would suspect that the marine stereo is better equipped to handle the high humidity (while at the lake) and foremost - the pounding often found in a boat, but not a car.
