I am on my way to pick up my new 22V that I ordered last month.

white deck, black panel, grey hull, black tower, black windscreen. I am old and married so I got the limited edition graphics (I never want to be that too old guy at the college bar...)

I am stoked except that its 29F outside and we'll have snow flurries tonight.

I think I read that domslude just ordered a sweet red/black RE. Anyone else waiting on one from the factory? Post some pics if you have shots from the factory or when you pick em up. I'll post mine this afternoon.

Waiting inpatiently for spring...

Congradulations!!!
Please post pictures ASAP, as mine is on order and is the same basic colors- white, black, grey. I wanted the limited, but my family demanded the Riders. Completion is the 20th, so it will be early March before it is in my hands.
Have fun.

its all good, but "spring?" whats that?:p

Congrats on your new boat, I'm anxious to see pics! Out of curiosity, what was your build time? I'm told 4-6 weeks, and the order just went in so, I'll have to be patient!:)

Hey Hunts,

I wish I had ordered mine from the factory. I got mine at a sale by the dealer. It was his boatshow prices. I didn't really get to pick much out on it, just took it with what it had. I'd love to order another one, but right now that's not really in my budget. I'm just happy enough to get to take a brake from my studies on the weekend and go to the lake:) Now if we could just get some warm air:) can't wait to see the pics

The board racks aren't installed yet but it's too cold to screw with it today. It was 34 degrees and drizzling during the first run. At least there were no locusts or meteors during the maiden voyage. I am a very happy customer...some of you probably recognize the Ski Dock. It took about five weeks from order to pickup.

Beatiful boat. Those So Cal RE graphics look great. I think that I saw it being delivered to you sat., I was doing a demo on a 24v w/ Tom.
Ordered mine on tues; 24v RE, vortec 335, storm grey hull and main, white deck, silver windshield, white phat tower, wht/platinum int, on a wht trailer, loaded. Be here in 4 weeks!
If you get a chance post pic of the walk-tru wind block that they are putting on the boats out here, its sweet.
What options did you go with?

Thanks, Roo. I went with the 335 GM Vortec, synchrotech, Taps 2, Alpine stereo with 2 cans, amp, Phat Budde Tower, Wakeboard Pro, bimini, cover, Extreme trailer with pivit hitch, 2 batteries, smoke-colored windscreen, white, light grey, interior with red accents. Sweet!!!

Sweet is right. Will you be putting this in a garage? I will be, and they swore to me that i can put it under a 7' header w/ front of trailer all the way down. What do you think?

tkuzma
02-14-2004, 05:41 AM
How are you going to get it in the garage with trailer all the way down? Use one of those power dollies? Right now it is outside, but am in the process of getting it under an enclosed side yard.

roo
02-14-2004, 05:42 AM
David, get on you local dealer to get those graphics. The dealer out here in Corona says he is trying to get Tige to pick them up for next year. Have him make a call he may be able to get them. The sticker looks great on the rear window of your truck too.

roo
02-14-2004, 05:45 AM
They told me I could crank it all the way down w/ the wheel still on and it would clear, then just bring it back up.

tkuzma
02-14-2004, 05:49 AM
Roo, the white Tige sticker looks great on the windscreen. I have the same graphic on the back of my Expedition as on the boat.

roo
02-14-2004, 05:56 AM
If you ever get a chance measure all way down with wheel on and let me know what you get. If it will clear ill be extending rear of garage
3 1/2' to give me 25'. That, or make rear of garage a pass-thru. I dont have enough on sides for access.

tkuzma, gorgeous boat. I haven't seen any in that color combo and I like how the tower follows the same contour as the windscreen. Awesome graphics selection but I still prefer the American flag emblem on the transom on the limited edition...not sure why that's not on all the models. Have a great summer with your new ride.

Roo -

I get the 22V in my garage by backing in with a 9" drop hitch on my 2wd Excursion. It clears with my Phat Tower lowered by about 2". FYI when storing the boat in the garage, build a support to hold the tower off of the upholstery. I spent $5.00, and made a wood stand to hold it up.

Hoots
02-15-2004, 11:34 PM
good suggestion keeping the tower off the upholstery. I rigged some tiedown straps to support the folded tower from the roof of my storage area. Flackpack, do you have racks on your tower? I want to put mine where they don't hit the interior of the boat when the tower is folded and where boards don't block my view when driving. I think I have to put them on the front (leading) tower support but I think it'll be tough to get at my boards with the bimini up. Any suggestions? Maybe I want too much...

thanks.

flackpack
02-16-2004, 12:27 AM
I have a Phat Tower Tower. The Racks are part of the tower, and they sit above the Driver's view. The racks do get in the way of the bimini, but it is the best positioning.

That's a great looking boat/tower. I previously had a boat with a Samson tower with integrated board racks; they worked great. I'll have to find a compromise with what I've got. I'll probably mount them on the forward supports and deal with it.

dom, thanks. I saw some shots of your ride in the galleries; awesome. Nice grab by the way. Flackpack, here's an agregious shot of my old centurion with the samson tower. I was a little disappointed how fast the nylon pads on the tower began to sunfade. Looks like the phat tower won't have that problem.

All you new owners I was wondering if you would not mind sharing how much you paid for your new boats. I have spoke with several dealers and received different prices from all of them on new 22v riders editions.

hey hoots... 2 questions: I've got a similar truck ('03 2500HD Crew Cab 4x4, running a 6.0L), that I'm going to be pulling my 22v with. I was wondering how much of a drop in your hitch you're running? I've got the factory receiver hitch, and I've had the front end leveled with the back (torsen bars).

2nd question... In those pics, did you launch at Sam Hill? I couldnt remember the place until the commercial stuck back in my head. Man... I've had many a drunken nights there!

Hoots
02-18-2004, 01:51 AM
Ruune, I've got a 2" drop and the trailer sits level. I'm sure your 2500HD rides higher than my 1500HD so you may want to go with at least 3". I bet your dealer would let you back up to some trailers to see what you need.

I have no idea what the name of that ramp is. It's on Lake Travis about 5 miles NW of Mansfield Dam off of FM 620. Those pics are from the "acceptance flight" with the Ski Dock rep at one of the private ramps they use for demos, etc. Sorry I couldn't remember the name but I was alternating between blissful thoughts of the new boat, the harsh realities of hypothermia, and the pressure of putting on a good show for my wife who approved the purchase in the first place...what a lady.

When is your new boat due in?

Hoots
02-18-2004, 02:07 AM
Shane, wow it's risky posting something like that and finding out what a sucker I was because I didn't fight the deal to the ground. I paid a little under MSRP (can be found on the website) but probably did better on my trade than I could have. Keep in mind I'm only on my second boat and have only bought one new, but I would be surprised if there is a great deal of true variance (option vs option with no trade considered)between dealers as I don't know of any Tige dealerships competing with other Tige dealerships. Unlike care dealers that compete with local same-model dealers, most boat outfits are trying to sell the best value compared to other brands in the area. As always though, if you're finding some discounts jump on 'em. Just make sure you wind up with reliable service and the boat you want.

Hoots
02-18-2004, 02:14 AM

Ruune, what I've got from an unscientific but quick trip to the driveway:

16.5" from the ground to the "lower surface inside" the receiver
18" from the ground to the TOP of the trailer ball

maybe that helps

Ruune
02-24-2004, 04:15 PM
haha yeah that helps a lot!

Anyways, I just heard from Damon about 5 mins ago... target completion date is 3/18/04! I got my order in just before the rush- I can hardly sit still! That red/black/red paint is going to look pimped out on the black trailer hooked up to my black truck.:D

oh yeah... one more question: I'm getting the same trailer you are, but with different rims. I know that it has disc surge brakes, but is there a pin to disengage the brakes when you're backing up a slope? Do you have any problems with this?

Domsz06
02-24-2004, 04:38 PM
I have a 5 inch drop on mine and I drive a 2000 PSD. I just raised it 3 inches though, so now I need to get a new one. One word of advice(learned it the hard way) play around with your drops. I thought I had the correct drop with my boat and when I was hauling it with a 95 yukon sport. Boy was I wrong. It always dragged on everything. Now that I have the 2000 psd, and a different drop, it never drags. So moral of the story? If your dragging, maybe you need more of a drop;)

Hoots
02-25-2004, 11:54 PM
Ruune, no clue. I'd go look but the boat is in storage a few miles from here. I'll check it out next time I'm there. I haven't had any problems backing up the driveway or into the storage area.

I'll check it out next time I'm there and get back with you.

Has anyone figured out how much that graphic costs, or how to get one made. I'm looking at replacing the stickers on my 2000 2300V and am trying to figure out what I want to do.

Paublo
02-26-2004, 12:00 AM
All of the newer trailers that I have seen have a solenoid that works off of the brake light to deactivate the surge brakes when you are in reverse. Uses a 5 wire trailer connection.

Ruune
02-26-2004, 02:59 AM
hmmm sounds interesting, but wouldnt that work off the reverse light to shut it off in reverse? It just seems that you'd want your trailer brakes to engage when you're hitting the brakes.

Paublo
02-26-2004, 03:05 PM
My mistake. Not the brake light, but it works only when in reverse- off of the reverse light. Sorry

Gator Grip Transom saver? Havent heard of that. Is that a type of film to reduce knicks and scratches?

flackpack
04-05-2004, 11:17 PM
Gator Grip is a rubberized texture grip application. It is similiar to the grips on a wakeboard handle. It comes in a large sheet and is great for a few uses. I put it in a 5" strip across my transom just above the swim step to keep my wakeboard clueless friends from scratching the gel coat. I also put it on the top of the gunnels just behind the wake tower, so I can stand without slipping when putting a board in the racks. The last place I put it was on the trailer in a small spot on the fenders to use as a bit of a step, and on the outriggers of the trailer guides to use as a step.

You can order it or see it at www.wakejunky.com

I'll post pics later.

Hoots
04-05-2004, 11:59 PM
You can see the transom saver a little better in this shot. I copied a guy with screen name MonsterTower. I ordered a sheet of black gatorgrip and cut as shown just like flackpack described. I had enough left over to cover the top of an old wakeboard to make a poor-man's wakeskate; it works great! I still have enough left to hit key places on the trailer. I used some standard shelf-liner from the grocery store on the bottom of the glove box to keep stuff from sliding and rattling.
