Planning our first boating/camping trip of the year and we've decided on Inks Lake. Anyone know if it's a good lake to take the boat out to?

I took the fam and some friends up there last October since Travis was too low and Austin was too crowded. We spent the day and had a blast!

Right on! I'm also thinking about Pace Bend. Anyone know what area/side is better?

Inks Lake is an outstanding place to boat and camp. When I lived in San Antonio I would make a couple of trips each year to that jewel of the Hill Country. Always took my boat. Used Inks Lake State Park and camped. Beached the boat at the campsite. I understand they now have cabins.

I have been wanting to visit Inks for a couple of years now. Be sure to reserve early for your dates as they are usually sold out close in. Heard nothing but good things about it.... Also heard colorado bend SP is lots of fun. Camp along the river and boat down to 2 waterfalls dropping on top of you.
