Anyone know much about the various HO boots? I don't don't need Animal boots as I'm nowhere near that good a skier but need to know something about the lower series.
I understand the new boots have a different mounting plate than my '98 ski has. Is it a big problem to drill new holes?

We have an ol' Kidder that we all like because it's an easy ski to ride. Last summer, the binding was damaged. Our dealer found us a good deal on a O'Brien binding, drilled new holes and it's working great. We lucked out that the new binding covered the old holes.

So to answer your question - drilling new holes does not seem to be a big deal.

If you dont like the animals, I would suggest the Venom boots. They are alittle softer and still have great ankle support. Here is HO's discription:

Performance and comfort characterize the Venom. The soft neoprene toe forms around the top of the foot keeping you relaxed enough for a long ski ride around the lake. Immediate ski response is guaranteed by the rigid overlay and rear laces that evenly spread the support around the instep and heel creating a fit that is sure to make snappy edge transitions an and controlled turns. The Venom has unbeatable function and fit for the intermediate to advanced slalom skier.

If you have the plates from your old boots they will screw on to the bottom of these, other wise call HO and the will send you some. There customer service is great!!!!
