Who would have thought those two words together meant something else.

If I remember right, I believe GM stopped making the Humvee, as in H1, a while back. Not 100% sure though

GM said its assembly plant at Shreveport, La. would continue to assemble the commercial Hummer H3 and H3T pickup trucks on a contract basis until June 2011, with a one-year option until June 2012. The military H2 version will continue to be assembled by AM General in Mishawaka, Indiana, under the same terms.

Well, I'm sorry to all you who own one, but that is one ugly truck.......the Chinese can have it for all I care. Does anyone really believe that there is or is going to be a market for those hogs. I get the Suburban/Yukon XL because there are a lot of families like mine that need the room, but a Hummer H2 is all about status in my opinion. Then again, perhaps it's an awsome ride/fantastic off road vehicle......

I believe the H2 was GM's version done on the Yukon chassis (like they drive on CSI Miami) and the H3 is done on the Chevy Canyon chassis. Th original "Hummer" was a non-military version of the "Hum-V", but still built by AM General.

I spent 4+ years in this set-up as I was an 0352, or TOW Gunner, in the Marine Corps! The Humvee is a great vehicle and battle tested! The H2 and H3 IMO are just like previously stated, status symbols. I have a Chevy Avalanche with a 6" lift and good offroad tires and from personal experience, it has a better on-road ride quality and much more off-road capabilities! Just my :02:! Now if someone wanted to give me an H1, I would be forced to pull my boat with it but probably wouldn't use it for a daily driver like some do. HA

The last H1s were 2006 models.

No matter what you think about those trucks, on a busy day at the launch ramp it would be sweet to have an H1 with a snorkel so you could just drive out into 4 ft of water hook up and skip the ramp completely.
