Water was nice in the morning at 7 a.m. until the wind came up each day. Air temp was 50 and water was 68 @ 7 a.m., early and chilly but worth it.

And of course the trip did not go without and incedent. Our son took my board to the back of the head, sooooo........

A ambulance ride
A ER visit
A CAT scan
And 12 staples later

this thing was DEEP!

Hope he recovers quickly. I am surprised there aren't people all over the place out there. Driving on hwy 80 from Spaulding I almost got taken out by 3 different people.

Sweet pics of the boat and lake, thats beautiful. Been by it many times too, never on it though. Ouch, ouch, triple ouch, I got a headache just lookin at your boy, hope he heals quick. I have had 2 nephews, and a niece do similar injuries, hard to imagine how the board could make it all the way up to the back of the head, but it does. quadruple OUCH!

He was wakeboarding, doing a a butter slide on the top of the wake. he said one foot went lower. he must have caught the edge. The back end of the board came up and got him. He was also still in his bindings. Bent up like a pretzall. When it happened he said he was never wakeboarding again, yeah right. He has been looking for another board the last few days. That night it happened he was back to his normal self. He is heeling up real good and feeling fine. He gets the staples out friday.

The impact also cracked the board and separated the bottom sheet.

His helmet that he wears on occation would have prevented this. DEFINTLY!!!!

The rock in that clear water pic is about 4 1/2 to 5 feet under the boat.

Sorry to hear about your son, sounds like he will make a good recovery! When he's older he can shave his head and look like a bad azz with that big old scar! :o

- kids are resiliant. It when you get old is the prob.

OMG! He broke the board with his head?!?!

Well, I guess he can impress the ladies by telling them that he is so tough that he can destroy a wakeboard with nothing but his bare head. ;)

Bent up like a pretzall.

Good thing us older folks don't bend like that, thereby eliminating board to the back of the had injuries while still in bindings.
