I purchased a 2008 22ve and didn't notice until the first weekend out that it doesn't have a transom handle. I found an earlier post about people installing their own but i'm not sure where to find one. Any suggestions? Also if anyone has installed one recently pictures and tips would be appreciated! i did a google search but didn't find much.

Has anyone seen where to find a Transom handle where it has provisions to hook up a rope for tubing. I have seen them on various inboards but have not seen a source for them.
Thanks
I got my grab handle with a rope hook from Tige, it works great for tubing, it has four attachment points. Not that allow tubing behind my boat

I have seen the tow rope cleat built into the grab handle. I know that my brothers Maristar is like that so I will just keep looking. Not a big rush item but one that I would like to go with.
Priority is lower than the ladder my wife wants and that is lower priority than the FAE I want.:D
Definitely a Money Pit:D
Here is what the grab bar looks like.

I can't say that I have ever even used the grab handle on mine.

zany, looking on the internet for that handle came up nil for me. spend way too much time at lunch looking for it. I do know that the circle part is a "ski tow" _____. Not sure what the last part would be because hitch brings up one thing and cleat brings up another. Neither is what I was looking for. :(
The center section of the grab bar is designed to be a ski tow. It works great, and you can even get a heavy duty tow rope on it.
Call the guys over at Tige Watersports in Corona they should be able to help you out. http://www.tigewatersports.com/
I also could not find a grab bar with ski-tow on the internet, so thats why I call my Tige dealer, because I saw thew were using on their boats.

Exactly what I am looking for. Is there an aftermarket source or would I have to overpay Tige Dealer?
Thanks all for trying to locate what I need. I dropped a note to TigeWaterSports in Corona,Ca to See if they can point me in the right direction. Since my season is rapidly coming to a close it will be a winter project which has a new list. Boat goes into storage just before Halloween.
:ot:
Priority order of projects:
Winterize and check tranny and v-drive to see if they need fluids changed. (Tige Dealer wants $375 plus the cost of trannyfluid, antifreeze etc.) It will be a DIY project. A Malibu dealer will winterize for $200 which is reasonable.
FAE:cool:
Grab Bar with tow rope eye:D
Capital Ladder for Little ones and us old farts :o
A Real Horn:02:
A safety Flag Mount for tower.
A job so I can pay for the above :):bo:

This does the trick. When you have one (or two) of these, you can power turn all day long and NOBODY caress. Kids are sure happy!
I made larger rear backing places 6" X "6, and tossed the small Mfg. plates in the trash. Maybe tomorrow I'll shoot a picture of new back plates.

We went to the Keys and some Bull shark got pissed at us for power turning. The shark would jump on swim platform and bite the transom. I out ran him with our 6 liter.
We'll be taking the wrap off this winter and doing a custom paint job using PlanetColor.

Here is what the grab bar looks like.
I inquired if I could get the combo grab bar / ski hook and they do sell them but Want $316 for them. They do not recommend that the eye be used for tubing for fear of if a tube submarined the stress on the grab handle may cause it to fail. Same issue with ski pylon. It AD the tower are not recommended for pulling tubes.
The 20I the 21I and other inboard configurations IMO are the only series of boats that the grab handle is handy for recreational skiing allowing people to sit in the back bench.
