Were you at Pyramid Lake? They let water out of that lake all day. You can tell what time it is by how many people it takes to push boats off the beach.

I remember driving by that lake on numerous occasions. Didn't know that there was that issue with the lake. Sorry to hear about the boat and the mud. :(

Damn. That is some serious mud~
On a lighter note...
I went to a popular "Island" bar on a really shallow lake and executed perhaps the most flawless reverse-in park job I've ever done (good thing, there's literally hundreds of people wanting carnage). Everybody jumped out of the boat rope in hand ready to tie off and then we all started laughing. The damn boat did not budge one centimeter even with people jumping to the pier. We had absolutely NO need for the dock ropes I had reversed into such shallow mud/muck. When it was time to leave I jumped in solo and just nailed the throttle. Probably not the brightest move, but this water is FOUL and I would never want to get in there. No damage to the boat thank goodness.
