Have a chance to buy a bimini top for my 2002 22i. The bimini I am looking at is from a 2001 21. Not sure if its a 21V or a 21i yet. Assuming the sellers boat has the Metcraft tower, and I have a metcraft tower, albeit they are different styles, will the bimini have any chance of working on my boat?

I know that in 2002 the beam of the 22i was increased to 102". I think the biggest beam in the 2001 model year was 100". Not sure how much difference 2" makes. Any suggestions? I am waiting to get some pics from the seller to see if there is a chance I can make it work.

I wouldn't think taht Metcraft radically changed the bimini top mounts or the top itself from one year to the next with the exception slight change in design, but I may be wrong.

I think the metcraft towers changed signigicantly between 01 and 02. I would recommend going to a canvas shop and have one made. Not sure of the exact fit but I know the stock metcraft 02 bimini was not user freindly with diferent holes for storage than when in use and also the velcro attachments. I was going to have a bimini made for my 02 but sold the boat and just purchased an 05 24V

I looked into having one made but it was much more than I wanted to spend. I thought if I could get a deal on an used bimini I could make it work with my tower. Doesn't have to be the best looking just something to keep the sun off the kids from time to time.
