Hello everyone,
Pick my 04 22v yesterday, it looks great. I dropped in the water and it had a hard time running, It would get to a certain speed and then loose RPM's all of a sudden. The Dealer said to play with the throttle for the firt tank of Gas. I am not sure what he meant. Any one ever experience this? Any one have any tips on breaking in the new boat.
Thanks

It should not have a hard time running. During breakin in you must vary the speed every few minutes to make sure everything seats ok. Read the engine and tige manaul about break-in

Some of the new engines have to come up to temperature before they will run at speed. The computer goes into "protection mode" because they have it programmed to "think" that the engine doesn't have any water in it and it may be overheating. After the engine comes up to operating temperature then it should go. Of course this may not be the case, make sure you are getting water through your engine by pulling an exhaust manifold plug and that water is coming out when the engine is running.

I would say that Gizmo is on the money from what you describe. Check that perfect pass.

what engine is in the boat? brand? size?
does it sound like it is running out of gas?
does it surge up and down on its own?
