Anyone know where the water temperature reading is sourced on the vessel? (i.e. sensor location)

Is it on the hull, or is this value generated from a sensor that is affixed to the fresh water pickup?

I was out this past week and I had variable water temps from 95-91 degrees with outside air temps ranging from 91-89 degrees.

I'd like to get an idea of how accurate this reading is as there is a health concern when the water temperatures are elevated.

My guess is that the information is taken from the engine computer.

And the air temp is up under the dash, mine is a little white plastic oval about an inch long.

I don't believe the water temp on mine is very accurate. About 8 degrees high.

Thank you, I plan to take a more accurate thermostat out with me next week, which will provide the data to calculate a range offset.
