Attached is some photos of his 16th Birthday. His Grandpa gave him his little truck. What a life saver for us on insurance. So now he has a truck and wants to go to the lake because we can pull the wave runners and the boat. So for his 16th we did that since he now has his drivers license:eek:. One of the pictures is his friend modeling the best boat quick cleaner out there.
Cleaning up to go home:(

I bought it from TIGE they were selling out the last of there inventory for $200.00 per cover last year. I have a snap down black cover on it that looks just real nice that stays under that cover so it does not get ruined and adds extra protection to the boats interior

No the one in the grey Hawaii shirt is my son. He is the oldest. All of those boys will be on missions with in the next 3 1/2 years.

Yea I know he wants to paint it and do a color change. I won't let him do a color change. Then he wants to get some 17 or 18" wheels on some low profile tires and drop it. I don't know that I will let him do that though. It is all about the money thing and in a 3 years he will have no need for it any more. I am going to let him do a sound system though. The one in the truck now is the stock one and it kinda well lets just say ......

He has already been there. We did that with him while he had his permit and we still make him drive us down there when we go. Yea he needs some practice in traffic. He is not aggressive enough. I sometimes wonder if he is a boy behind the wheel. Of course when his MOM is in the car that is better for both of us.:D

Happy Birthday! Looks like a great time...no better day than to get your license, get your own set of wheels, and get to be on the water. I will have another son turning 16 this fall and he still claims SPBFAN's 24V is the best Tige wake he has ever ridden! :ro::ro::ro:

Yes, it does then when the get there license they all of a sudden think they are free to come and go as they please and don't have to ask for permission. We already had that battle last week.
Needless to say Mom won that one. She took the keys, license and all and put it in the safe. He has them back now but I think he learned his lesson. I hope. I am sure the battle will come again when he forgets the last one.:ro:. I hear girls are not any better and in some cases worse than guys. Don't know for sure though I have 16 years until I cross that road.:bo:

Don't be too hard on yourself...your kids are gonna be fine. Each time they experience a new freedom, they're gonna test their limits. Sounds like your wife's got the handle on that one. It's great to see that your son's first thought was family time at the lake! :ro:

My daughter is 12 now. She's getting my Tundra when the dreadful day arrives that she can drive. It's funny, she tells me "no, I'm not driving that thing, you're buying me a convertible." She seriously believes what she is saying!! It blows my freaking mind. Her mother has her runied (spoiled ROTTEN). I'm eagerly awaiting the day I hand her the keys and say "I told you so." We'll see if she's walking or cruising in the Tundra. hahahaha It's going to be a sweet sweet day of reality for her ego.

Ha ha, we're saving a 2000 Chrysler Town & Country for our boys. Nothing says HS stud like a minivan.

Are you kidding? I coulda pulled major ... In a minivan. Lay that third row seat down, and use that sucker for it's second intended purpose. LOL
Having said that, nothing convinced me more to get summer jobs than the 1980 Ford pinto hatchback my parents had saved for me! The faux wood grain side door paneling (faded to a nice shade of gray). Would have dropped the panties all over town!
Happy Birthday! My son is driving a 1999 Chrysler LHS that I bought from his grandparents!

We made our 16 yr old daughter put some of her own money in her car and pay the insurance. Here is a good one, she thinks she should only pay half the insurance while she is on a two week trip? Seems logical!

That will never happen as he knows that day is called DOOMZ Day for him. He would probably be meeting my CHP (California Highway Patrol) friends at the dock when he came in to get off the lake since they all patrol that lake and I have there phone numbers and at least one of them is alway on one of the shifts in the area patroling that area.

I like your thinking. However the good thing to an older vehicle is the insurance is cheaper.

That will never happen. He does not care about the boat. It is boaring to him unless there is a tube behind it. We have to force him to go to the lake with us.

Now this brings back a really bad memory.. in 2004 my oldest (then 18) drove up to our lake, called our boatel and had the boat launched, loaded up the boat with some buddies and went wakeboarding.
He neglected to tell the first guy who went riding NOT to put his arm through the handle.. compound fracture was the result:eek::eek:.
Everything healed ok, I didn't get sued, and nobody takes the boat out unless I'm there now..
